The reference numeral 6G denotes a cover, which extends the length of the casing 29 and is semi-cylindrical or curved in cross section. rI`he cover is hinged to the bracket by means of lugs 6l and pivots 62. In operating the projection apparatus, the cover is lifted and swung about its pivots 62, thus exposing the top of the casing 29 and the sprocket wheels 23 through the openings 36.V The operator then takes the film and places it around and upon the casing by slipping the film endwise in over the casing. rlhe first picture is placed in register with the projection opening- 40, and as the film hangs down over the casing the perforations 14 naturally engage some of the-sprocket wheels. Looking at Figure l, the film will thus engage the four wheels 23 situated to the right of the lamp 37. Next to the cover is lowered until it rests upon the casing cover 31 whereby there is formed a narrow semi-cylindrical chamber or passage 70 extending the length of the casing. In closing down the cover the framing member 66 is brought into yielding engagement with the film to both sides of the projecting means and as the film passes around the casing, said framing member by keeping it in close contact with the casing, prevents slipping or displacement of the film and frames the pictures correctly. The
opening 69 in the framing member registers of course with the opening in the casing 29.
The machine is then started by applying i power to the driving shaft 54 whereby the film, through the instrumentality of the sprocket wheels 23 will be operated intermittently in the usual manner and the pictures will be successively projected as will be understood. During this operation the film will be rotated around the casing 29 and will also be moved axially thereof9 or in other words, the lm will be moved spirally mail,

rlhe apparatus as herein disclosed is very simple in construction and may be produced at a low cost. It is particularly well adapt-y ed for shipping or carrying about.
It will be understood that the construction set forth is illustrative and may be altered and changed without departing from the principle of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.

l. A. motion picture apparatus comprising a cylindrical casing, a cover therefor, cooperating film projecting means carried by said casing and cover, and means for operating a motion picture film between said casing and cover to cause the film to be projected by the said co-operating film projecting means.
2. A motion picture apparatus comprising a cylindrical casing, a cover therefor hinged at the one end of said casing, which latter is arranged to receive an endless motion picture film lengthwise thereof, said film being adapted to rest upon the said casing beneath the said cover, co-operating projection means carried by said casing and cover, means for registering the film with respect to said projection means and means within said casing, but projecting therefrom, for operating said film past the said projection means to cause said film to be projected.
3. Av motion picture apparatus comprising a. cylindrical casing, a cover therefor hinged at the one end of said casing., which latter is arranged to receive and support upon its top curved surface an endless motion picture lm lengthwise thereof, said film being vadapted to rest upon the said casing beneath the said cover, cooperating projection means carried by said casing and cover, means for registering the film with respect to said projection means and means within said casing, but projecting therefrom and engaging the film for movmg the same both lengthwise and sidewise, for operating said film past the said projection means to cause said film to be projected.
4. In a moving picture apparatus the combination of a drive shaft, a lm operating shaft intermittently driven therefrom and carrying a series of sprocket wheels, a shutter operating shaft parallel to the sprocket shaft, a driving gear between said drive shaft and said shutter operating shaft and a vertical shaft geared with the shutter operating shaft and carrying the shutter.
