'il he primary object of the invention is the provision of anvironing board which, when adjusted for servico, is supported wholly bythe 'trunk and whichE when not. in use, may be conveniently stored within the trunk so as to be out ot the way and occupy little space.

Then the ironing board is not required for imn'iediate service', it is conveniently stored within the section 1 so as to occupy a position adjacent the back thereof so as tov be out ot the way and occupy a minimum amount of space. The projecting edge portion of the angle strip 14 engages and rests upon the rear portion of the frame 'i' and displacement of the ironing board is prevented by the thumbscrew 13 engaging the threaded opening 12, as shown most clearly by the full lines in VFigure 2 and the dotted linesin Figure 8. In this position ofthe ironing board, the notch 16 in the projecting edge portion ot the strip l-fl receives the foot of the bracket 9.

l. ln a wardrobe trunk having a clothes section having` a hinged top, an ironing board adapted to be placed in storage position within the trunk when not required for service and adapted when'adjusted for service 'to extend across. the top of the clothes section and supported thereby, and means for rigidly securing the rear end oli the ironing board to the clothes section in either of the two mentioned positions.

vided with a hinged top, a metal-traine attached to the upper portionot the back and sides oil the clothes section and serving to strengthen and reinforce the same, a bracket attached to said :trame and having an inwardly disposed lateral extension, said lateral extension and the lower portion of the bracket each having a threaded opening, an ironing board, an angle strip attachedto the rear end ot the ironing board and having a proj ecting edge portion in which is formed a notch to clear the bracket or the` lateral extension thereof, according to whetherthe board vbe placed in operative position or inoperative position, a thumb screw applied to the iro-ning board and adapted to engage either the threaded opening of the lateral extension or the lower portion of said bracket, and means extending across the 'open front of the clothes section to help support the ironing board in operative position.r

5. ln a wardrobe trunk having a clothes section having its upper and front portions open, a hinged top for closing the upper portion of the section, an ironing Yboard adapted to be stored within the trunk when not required tor use and to be placed across the top oi? the clothes section when adjusted for service, the rear end ot' the ironing board being supported by the back of the clothes section, a door supported within the front of the section and forming a support for the ironing board when in operative position, and means for securing the ironing board to the back of the clothes section to prevent displacement thereof when in operative position.

6. ln a wardrobe trunk embodying a clothes-section, an ironing-board adapted to be placed in storage position adjacent the back wall oi said clothes-section within the trunk when not required for service and adapted when adjusted ior service to eX- tend across the top of the clothes-section and be supported thereby, and means for attaching the rear end of the ironing-board to the clothes-section in either of the two mentioned positions.
