The'cabinet may be supported upon legs 34 of suitable length to admit free'access beneath the cabinet =for sweeping the' floor, and the rear edges of the side walls 11 of the cabinet are provided Vwith inwardly extending vertical cleats or flanges 35 adapted to overlap the edges of the ironing board 22 when the latter is folded as shown in Figs. 4.and 5. A hook 36 is mounted on the rear wall 12 'of lthe cabinet to engage in an eye 37 carried uponthe outer section v30 of the brace to hold the latter in folded position as shown in Fig. 4. Y A sliding top or table 38 is mounted on top of the cabinet and is of boxlike construction to house the hood 21, and is'provided atV its lower lateral edges with inturned vflanges 39 adapted to engageV in undercut grooves or recesses 40 in the opposite lateral edges of the plate 18. The plate 18 therefore holds the cover 38 on top of the cabinet and permits of the sliding of the top lengthwise of the lcabinet into extended position asV shown in Fig. 2 so that the full width of the top may be utilized in supporting clothes `while substantially the full length of the ironing board may be used for ironing purpOSeS. i

As the pivoted socket on top of the cabinet is rotatable with the swinging of the board 22, the top 38 is also swung or turned upon the upper end'of the cabinet as shown in Fig. 1, and is securely held to the cabinet in all positions of adjustment.

When the ironing board is set up as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and it is desired to fold or collapse the same, it is only necessary to swing the ironing board 'either upwardly or laterally at its free end to disengage the cleats 24 from thetongue 25,v when the ironing board 22 Vmay be withdrawn from the pivoted socket. The brace sections 30 and 31 are folded upwardly and move the adjustable support inwardly towardV the cabinet. The depth of the space within the rear of the cabinet is proportioned to receive the folded brace, the adjustable support and the ironing board therein behind the cleats 35. The adjustable brace and the leg structure 27 are secured in collapsed position bythe hook 36 as shown in Fig. 4, and the ironing board 22 is 'sliddownwardly between the cleats 35 and the leg structure 27 to close the rear of the cabinet and to connect all parts together in a compact structure.
