GOLIEING TEE.
Application filed May 7,
My invention relates to a new and useful improvement in a golfing tee, and has for its object the provision of a tee which wili be simple in structure, economic: l of inanufao ture, and highly efficient in use.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a tee which, when used and properly aligned, will. present to the driving club a surface extended parallel to the face of the 1 driving club, when in proper position.
Another object of the invention is the pro vision of a golfing tee having a plurality of tees of various heights mounted thereon, so arranged and positioned that when one is being used an open space between the other tees is provided for the passage of the club.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a tee formed from a plate having a carrying opening formed therein.
Other objects will appear hereinafter.
The invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention will be best understood by a 35 reference to the accompanying drawings which form a part of this specification, and in which,
Fig. 1 is a top plan view of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the invention.
Fig. 8 is a sectional view taken on .ine 3-3 of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings the invention comprises a plate 7 formed preferably from hard rubber or the like and formed triangular shaped. This plate is provided with an opening 8 through which the handle of the golfing club may be projected for carrying the tee from place to place.
At one corner of the plate 7 there is providcd an elevation 9 with an opening 10 formed therein, this elevation serving as a tee and the opening serving as a retainer or support for the golf ball placed thereon.
Formed on one of the other corners of the plate 7 is a projection 11 having a pocket 12 formed therein, this projection 11 being of greater height than the projection 9.
Formed on the other corner is a projection 13 of greater height than either of the projections and provided with a pocket 11: for the reception of the ball.
In use, when either of the tees is being used,
o toe; on the plate to permit the passage of the ciub therethrough, so that a plurality of tees are user. on the face and when in use player not interfered with by ;.he presence. of any of the tees which are not being used.
Nhile I have illustrated and described the preferred form of my invention, i do not wish to limit myself to the precise dcta of structure shown, but desire to avail. niyt-sclt of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention wh t I claim as new and desire to secure by Let Patent is:
1. A golfing tee of the cl 4 described, e arising: a triangular shaper A late; and: rality of tees projecting outwardly from one face thereof, each at one corner of said i 2. A golfing tee of the class (it prising:atriangular shaped pi; ,an rality of tees projecting outwardly f nn one face thereof, each at one corner 0 I each of said being of a height drncrii i; from the other tees.
3. h. golfing tee of the cl, p ising a triangular shaped plate; 1 rality of tees projecting outwardiy fr face thereof, each one corner of s: each of said tees being of a hei from the other tees, said plate he ing formpd centrally therein.
4;. In a device of the class combination with a base, of ried on said base and forming spices o a substantially equilateral triangle.
5. in a device of the class described. the combination with a base, of three t ried on said base and forin' ie; the epic a substantially equilateral triangle, said tees varying in height.
In testimony whereof I have signed the foregoing specification.
