This invention relates to a cotton picking machine, one of the objects being to provide a pneumatic cotton picker utilizing a number of gathering tubes carrying nozzles through which a suctio'n will be set up so that when one or more of thenozzles are placed against a boll of cotton the fibres will be sucked into the machine and deposited in asuitable g container provided therefor.
A further object is to provide means close i to each nozzle whereby suction through the` casing nozzle can be controlled readily by the operator.
Another object is to provide a cotton picking apparatus in the form of a complete 'unit ada ted to be placed on a wagon body or the e and whlch, when operated, will quickly fill the body with the harvested cotton.
With thel foregcing and other objects' in view which will appear. as the descriptionproceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that, within the scope of whatvis claimed, changes in the precise embodiment of 'the invention shown can be made without departin from the spirit of the invention.

Formed in the nozzle 14 near the elbow is an air inlet opening 17 and a gate valve 18 is arranged within the nozzle and is adapted to close' theopening.
