This invention relates to means for con structmg a holder for slippers and other article's, which is portable and which may be attached to the head and foot boards of a bed, to the back of a chair, and to other articles in a room.

Among the objects of the. invention is to obtain a frame which is rigid; which is easily covered by suitable textile material by any person skilled in needle work; and which is adapted to be readily mounted on the back of a chair, on the head or foot board of a bed, or on the side rails thereof; and which. when covered with textile material will form a holder suitable to hold slippers, hose, handkerchiefs, or other small articles, in such man-,-

ner that the same may be readily taken therefrom when desired. An additional object is to obtain a holder of the kind named which is sightly in appearance; which is simple in construction, and which is durable andnot liable to become broken or to' get out of order.

The frame embodying my invention is preferably made'of ductile wire. -1 represents across member; 2 and 3, respectlvely represent Ushaped members to which the cross member is oined by bends or loops 4, P.

The shorter one of the parallel elements of members 2 and 3, respectively, is joined to cross member 1, as by the bends or loops 5, 5 The longer oneof the parallel elements of members 2, and 3, respectively, is bent. as at 6, 6%, to obtain the substantially horizontal member 7, 7 and again as at 8, 8, to obtain the elements 9, 9 which are substantially parallel with the remainder of said- I 10, 10 represent bends or UNETE airfare; are W6 in the constructing Of the frame. 11, 12

It will be observed by reference to Figure 1, that members 11, 12, respectively,

are each provided with two semicircular elements, and that intermediate the ends of said members they are in close contact, as at 15, 1G, with theshorter onesof the parallel elements of the U-shaped'members 2 and 3,

and I prefer tojoin them rigidly thereto, as by solder. 17, 18, represent members which are, secured at their upper ends to member 11, as bybends or loops, 19, 20, and inter mediate the ends thereof, are in close contact with member12, as at 21, 22, andI prefer to rigidlyjoin them thereto by solder. They may, however, be joined bythread wrapped closely around said'members. Members 17 18, respectively. are illustrated as being bent at .23, 24 and the lower ends thereof are secured to members 2' and 3, respectively, by bends or loops 25, 26.

When constructed as above described a quite rigid frame-is obtained by the use of comparatively small. ductile wire.

Suitable textile material, (or thin leather) 2?, Figs. 2 and3, is' then placed on the frame, to cover it and to provide pockets in which slippers, hose, handkerchiefs andother small articles may be placed. V

This covering 27'is placed on the front of the frame, and covering 28 is placed on the back of the frame. j

I prefer to cover elements 7, 7 and elements 9, 9 of members 251ml 3, with textile material, :as braid woundaround them, but of course such covering is not essential to t-he'ntility of the device, although'adding to f its pleasing appearance.
