Description

, BY la 61,; L
may 22, 192. 1mm?" T. NUERNBERG NURSING BOTTLE HOLDER Filed May 24, 1927 ATTORNEY Patented May 22, 1928..
THERESA NUERNBEBG, OF TASSAIC, NEW JERSEY.
. NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.
Application filed May 24,
this character so constructed that a nursing bottle may be readily mounted therein or removed therefrom, and will besecurely held against slippage or against spilling its con tents while mounted in the holder.
Other objects of the invention are to provide a nursing bottle holder of simple, practical construction, which will be neat and attractive in appearance, rugged and durable in use, convenient to manipulate, occupying little space when folded, and a device which is well suited to the requirements of economical manufacture and rapid attachment to a support.
With the above noted and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts, as will be more fully hereinafter set forth and pointed out in the claim. The invention may be more fully under-stood from the following description in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein Fig. 1 is a perspective view illustrating the manner of use of the nursing bottle holder of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is an edge view of the attachin bracket with one of the curved rods mounte therein.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the bottle holder, the dotted lines indicating another position to which the bottle may be conveniently moved.
In the drawings I have used the reference character 10 to designate a baby carriage provided with a swinging top 11 turning one end encircling 1927. Serial No. 193,843.
about a pair of bolts, one of which is illustrated at 12. The bottle holder of the present invention is preferabl adjustably secured to the carriage by t e use of a generally L-shaped bracket 13 including a. longer apertured arm 14 and a shorter arm 15. The apertured end of the arm 14. is slipped over the end of the bolt 12 and retained in place by the usual wing nut 16. The arm 14 ma of coursebe disposed at any ,desired ang e. The shorter arm 15 is bent upon itself as at 17 to define a split no bearing 18 receiving the offset end 19 of a curved supporting bar 20. A bolt 21 and wing nut 22 connecting the members 15 and 17 may be used for tightening the bearing 18 and selectively lockin the arm 20 against swinging movement if desired. Preferably however, the arm 20 is free to swing.
A second curved rod 23 preferably of substantially the same length and curvature of the rod 20 is used, rod 23 having a substan tially three-quarter spherical socket 24 at a ball 25 on the end of the rod 20 to provlde a universal connection. The opposite end of the rod 23 is formed with a socket 2 1 similar to the socket 24, but receiving a ball 26 carried by a split spring clamping ring 27 adapted to embrace the nursing bottle 28 and encircled at spaced points by rubber bands 29 which prevent the bottle from slipping and sliding in the clamp.
The two universal joints 24, 25 and 24 26 are preferably stifl' enough to prevent the weight of the bottle from turning the balls in the sockets.- A slight manual pressure however, is suiiicient to adjust the parts, the. two universal connections permitting the bot tle to be pointed in any direction and tilted at any desired angle as will be readily understood.
Obviously, various changes and alterations: might be made in the general form and arrangement of parts described without departing from the invention. Hence I do not wish to limit myself to the details "set forth, 95 but shall consider myself'at liberty to make such changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claim." I claim:
A nursing bottle holder including a bracket to be attached to a baby carriage or other suitable sup ort, an arm swivelly mounted in the brac et, a second arm universally connected atone end to the free end of the first mm, wide, bottle clamping member 1 universall connected to the other end of the secon arm, said clamping member com-' prising a spiitspring'" bottle engaging ring,
and rubber bands encircling the ring at intervals to prevent sliding movement of the 15
