Slight changes in the mechanical details of thedevice, obviously can be made without departure from the generic disclosure herein made.
. a What I claim to be new is:
1.,In a stopper for containers comprising a hollow metal body portion with a laterally projectin ends of the stopper and near the upper end thereof to form a flexible resilient follower,
' an annular washer encircling the body portion, and means consisting of an outer clamping ring for permanently attaching the washer to the stopper so that the washer is firmly clamped on one side against the under surface of the circular flange while presenting on its other side a downwardly outer encircling circular flange intermediate the,
and inwardly inclined conical sealing surface.
2. In a stopper for containers comprising a hollow cylindrical body portion of sheet metal which is formed into cup-shape with its side walls threadedand having an outwardly and upwardly inclined circular flange at its upper edge, a top or cover plate for the bodyportion consisting of a circular disk which extends to cover the body portion and its projecting flange, a washer encircling the body portion and beneath the under surface of the flange-thereof, and an ring 'havin clamping flanges which fasten together t e elements of the stopper with the washer permanently secured thereto being held against the pro- J'ecting flange of the body portion and presenting on its under side a downwardly and inwardly inclined conical sealing surface.
3. A stopper for containers comprising a cup shaped body portion of sheet metal having its side walls pressed into the form of screw threads, and an outwardly flaring circular flange at its upper edge, a washer encircling the body portion and positioned beneath the flange thereof the washer being of molded elastic material and having a reduced cross section at its outer edge, a top or coverv element for the bodyportion consisting of a circular ,disk of molded plastic material of suflicient thickness to constitute an effective heat insulator and covering the body portion'and its projecting flange, and an outer encircling 'ring having upper and lower clamping flanges between which the cover, body portion, and washer are assembled and retained in fixed relationship with the washer permanently held against the under side of the projecting flange of the body member and presenting on its under side a downwardly and inwardly inclined conical sealing surface. a
' 4. A stopper for containers as set forth in claim 3, in which the cover element is apertured at its center to receive a swivel connector.
5. A stopper forcontainers comprising a 'hollow metallic body portion, and a cover therefor consistingtof a relatively thick disk of heat insulating material, a washer encirclin the body portion'and positioned beneat the outeried e of the cover and near the top of the b0 y portion, and an outer encircling ring constituting clamping means by which thewasher,,body portion and cover are permanently secured together to constitute the stopper, the washer being pressed against the body portion and retained in such position that its underside presents a downwardly and inwardly sloping conical sealing surface. a
6. In a stopper forcontainersa body portion having an outwardly extending annular flange, an annular washer encircling the outwardly extending peripheral flange, and means for clamping the flange of the Washer to the flange of the body portion at their outer edges, whereby the washer is held against the said flange with its lower face presenting a downwardly and inwardly inclined conicalsealing surface.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my slgnature.
FREDERICK LOBL.
