- My invention relates to certain improvements in xtures for raising or lowering curtains, and fastening the saine at any point desired; and it consists of a cam frame or support, and a curtain-roller support or journalbox, when formed of one piece, and combined with arough-faced eccentric-shaped cam placed upon it on an axis, so as to turn easily with the friction of a cord or tape, so that the height of the same may be controlled thereby, the whole being so arranged that by drawing upon the cord or tape vertically, o1' nearly so, the curtain maybe raised or fastened at any point required 5 or, by drawing it out at an angle from the perpendicular, the curtain may be either raised or lowered.

" IMPROVEMENT IN CURTAIN-CORD HOLDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No 164,238, dated June 8, 1875; application filed March 24, 1875.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDRICK E. WAGNER, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Curtain- Fixtures, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to certain improvements in xtures for raising or lowering curtains, and fastening the saine at any point desired; and it consists of a cam frame or support, and a curtain-roller support or journalbox, when formed of one piece, and combined with arough-faced eccentric-shaped cam placed upon it on an axis, so as to turn easily with the friction of a cord or tape, so that the height of the same may be controlled thereby, the whole being so arranged that by drawing upon the cord or tape vertically, o1' nearly so, the curtain maybe raised or fastened at any point required 5 or, by drawing it out at an angle from the perpendicular, the curtain may be either raised or lowered.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l represents a front view of my invention attached to a window and curtain. Fig. 2 is a 3 is also a side view of the cam, showing its position when the curtain is fastened.
A represents the curtain-roller. It is supportedby pivots E F and brackets G H. lis a grooved roller, to which the tape or cord J is connected. K represents the eccentric-shaped cam, supported on the pivots L, so as to turn easily in the frame M, which forms a part of the bracket H. G is the curtain.
The operation of my invention is very simple, and easily understood from the drawings. The tape or cord J is fastened to, and enough of it is wound around, the grooved roller I to raise the curtain to the proper height. The remaining part is then passed through the frame M,over the cam K, so as to be operated substantially as shown in Figs. 2 and 3.
I claim as my invention- The bracket F, having an extended lower end, terminating in the loop M, in which the scroll-wheel K is pivoted, the latter being corrugated upon part of its periphery, and smooth as to the rest, as and for the purposes described.
