The adjustability ofthe supporting standard provides means whereby it can be rigidlysecured in upsta'ndingposition between thefloor 8 and the ceiling 15vto prevent the wardrobe fronrtilting over ory being accidently shifted after the `wardrobe has been positioned at the desiredfpoint within the room. The means for tixe'dly securing'the section 2 in adjusted position with respect to Athe section 1 forthe purpose of locking the supporting standard in position willbe presently referred to. j
Secured to the section 1, of the supporting standard at the desiredpoint, that is to say inproi'ziinity to the upper end't'hereof, is a supporting frame consisting of an 'oval shaped'body-portion 16, a horizontally disposed cross member 17, a longitudinallydisposed cross member 18, and a collar 19. The cross members 17 and 18 are intersected centrally thereof by the collar 19 and said cross members `are integral with the latter. The collar y19'is formedivith a hub 20, Which cairiesa set screw 21 for iX'edly securing the collar 19 tothe .section 1. The Vouter ends of ythe cross members'17 and 18v are formed with right angularly disposed, bends 22 Which abut 'against the inner face of the body portion 16 andare suitably secure-d therewith in any desirable manner. Thev body portion 16I is in the" form of an; oval shapedlring setup from anstrip ,of suitable material, and with the ends ofthe strip overlapping and secured togetherby the hold fast devices 23. The supporting frame is in the form of what may betermed an oval shaped wheel. y Y
EXtended throughout the top ofthe body portion V16 of the supporting frame, as Well asv dependingfrom the latter, is. a split curtain referred toigenerally by the reference character 24and'which extendsfromfthe supporting frame tok the ,floor 8. The curtain 24 provides a compartment 25'for the rreception ofthe articles of wearing apparel. The curtain 24 'includes yan upper portion 25 formed awith lan opening 26 through which extends the `sect-ion 1 of the supporting standardfySe'cured tot-he section 1 and 'bearing against i, thedtop.` ofthe portion 25 of the curtain' 24 is a sealing Lgasket 27, to arrest Y l'the passage of dust so that it cannot enter the chamber 425 from the ltop of the curtain.
The curtain 24 is split and the split ends thereof are indicated at2'8 and 29 and which overlap each other, see Figures 2 and 3. rThe overlapping` ends of the curtains 24 are detachably 'connected' together by snap fastener members 80. The split in the curtain 24 eX- tendstransverselythrough a part of the uppcr portion A25 ofthe curtain and further extends to thc bottoni of the curtain.

Adjustably mounted on the standard '1, within the chamber 25, is a Acollar 34 provided with a. plurality of radially disposed suspension arms V35 and each Vof these latter isforined with vertically disposed'hat supports 36 and depending` hooks 37 for supporting articles of Wearing apparel. The collar 34 is maintained in its adjusted positioirlay a setV screw 37 carried thereby and which has binding engagement with the sectionl. rirdjustably 'mounted on the standard 1, below thecol'lar Y34, isa pair of oppositely extending and superposed umbrella or cane supports,l andv each of which consists of a circular body portion lor loop 38 and a coupling portion 139 of ring` like form which eX- tcnds around the section 1.v The coupling portion 39 is spaced'from the loops 38 by a connecting part 40 yand said coupling portion is formed with avflange 41 which opposes i the part 4,0 nand coacting with `the lange41 and part 40 is a clamping screw 42 .for tixed- .ly clamping the coupling portion 39 to the 'sectionvl' whereby the-umbrella or cane support is maintained in a stationary position with respect to thesection 1. Arranged vbelow the loops'y 3 8 are receptacles 43 for the lower` ends of the canes or the umbrellas.
The supports or loops can bc adjusted relatively to each other in spaced relation or can be bodily adjusted to different positions upon' the section 1 of Ythe supporting standards. j
By setting` up the supporting frame of oval contour .it takes up :less space lthan if circular or of other contour and furthermore it permits of thefull depth of the curtain to lie perfectly flat and enablesthe easy 'dra-ping ofthe curtain. The curtainhangsclos'e to the .floor and excludes a'll dust, opens in front and is readily thrown back yout ofthe way when access is desired to the chamber 2.5.f
The curtain is so split that it opens to a point in close proximity to the section l, and the y ends of the curtain may be conne-cted tojeach other by resilient means for the purpose ofy automatically closing the Vcurtainv whenv desired. l e
The elements of the combined costumer andwardrobe can be constructed of anysuitable materiahas well as thexshape of the hat ,supports or garment hooks. Owing tothe .manner of set-ting up the supporting frame` with respect to the section l, said frame can be positioned at any desiredheight with respect to said section. The collar or nut 33 is of polygonal contour to facilitate the gripping thereof by suitablelinstruments for the purpose of adjusting it towards and from the' col'larBl.
The elements of the device, other than the curtain can' be constructed of solid steel, pressed steel or tubular steel. l
It is thought the many advantages of a combined costumer and wardrobe, in accordancewith this invention can be readily un-. derstood, and although the preferred embodiment of the invention isas illustrated and described, vyet itis to be understood that changes in the details'of construction can be 'the kcollar andthe frame, a telescopio standard including an upper and a'lower section and providing` means for locking the frame to prevent lateral shifting ortilting thereof, said lower section extending through said collar, means for locking' the collar to said lower sectionbelow the frame, said Sections provided with coacting means for maintaining' them in adjusted position, said coacting meansarranged above said collar, and a one-piece overlapping split curtain extendthe complete outer side edge of the frame and depending from the latter to the lower ling over the top of the frame, throughout the 'opening formed on the frame, overlapping end of Vthe standard, said curtain providing a normally closed chamber, the split iny said curtain disposed at one side of thek chamber and vextending horizontally at the top ap-` proximately half the width of the frame.y
