Description

F. HAGEMANN TABLE Filed June 16, 1924 R m m V m 107 ATTORNEY Patented May 19 1925.
UNITED STATES FEANK HAGEMANN, OF CISCO, TEXAS.
TABLE.
Application filed June 16, 1924. Serial No. 720,171.
T aZZ whom it may concern Be it known that 1, Fauna l'lAGEMANN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cisco. in the county of Eastland and State of Texas have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tables, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in ables, particularly tables for sell-service, and it the principal object of the invention to provide a table of this character which allows a diner to select and place within his easy reach. any dish on the table without disturbing his co-diners or without needing the assistance oi a waiter or the attendant.
Another object 01" the invention is 'the brow" n of a table of this character which silo a ready adjustment of the rotating table with respect to the stationary table, and a locking of the parts in their adjusted relative positions.
further object of the invention is the prc ision 01" a table of this character which can be readily mounted and taken apart for crmvcnient storing. v
The invention is particularly adapted for use in lunch or dining rooms as it takes up a comparatively restricted space only and can a cheaply constructed from any suitrzcrial such as metal.
liurthrr objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds and will then be more specifically pointed out in the a upended claim.
" the accompanying drawing, forming iterial part of this disclosure Fig re 1 is a front elevation of a table constructed in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 larged scale.
Figure 3 is a detail view of a supporting cap element.
As illustrated in the drawing, the table comprises the customary plate resting upon the supporting members 11, provlded with feet 12 made integrally therewith.
A tubular connecting member 13 is interposed between the supporting members 11 which are attached thereto by means of screws 1a or the like engaging spacing plates or bands 15 between the upper parts able is a sectional View on an on of members 11 and the tubular member 13, integral with the said tubular member. The supporting members 11 have suitable re cesses 16 formed therein in order to allow ready access to the heads of the screws 14.
The lower end of the tubular member 13 engages the bottom plate of an open cap 17, the upright side members 18 of which are space lir'oi11 each other and provided with perforations 19 for the passage of screw bolts or the like by means of which the cap 1'? is held against the lower end of the tuiuilarmember 13. The cap 17 has a corn trully located nipple through the pcrfora tion of: which an adjusting screw 22, proriucd with a handle 22 at its lower end is passed, the upper end of which engages within the tubular member 13, the lower end edge or a bar 23 located for vertical dis- I placement within the member 13 and extending through the top thereof above plate 10 to carry a serving table 24 or the like. The conically shaped head 25 of the screw 22 engages a similarly shaped seat in the lower end of bar 23 so that the same can smoothly turn therein in order to allow a rotation of table 24 carrying thedishes r'rom which food is to be served and bring these dishes within easy reach of a diner.
It will be evident that by the removal or" screws 1 1 and bolts 20 and loosening of screw 29., the table may quickly be taken apart as the plate 1Ov rests loosely on the horizontal members 26 of the supporting I members 11 held thereon by its own weight. The upper table 24 may be elevated to any convenient distance above the table plate 10 and held in the adjusted position by means of the proper adjustment of the screws 22.
"While the drawings and description illustrate and describe the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be clear that such changes may be made in the general arrangement and in the construction of the.
minor details of my invention as fall within the scope of the appended claim without departing from the spirit of my invention.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: p
A compound table comprising a non-tiltable main plate, an auxiliary plate rotatable thereabove, supports on which the main plate loosely rests in a fixed plane said supports diverging at their lower portions, a
tubular member rigidly bolted between said supports, a conically, pointed screw extend ing axially upward into said member, the head of said screw being accessible between said supports, and a spindle carrying the auxiliary plate, said spindle being guided in said tubular member and seated on the point of said screw whereby said auxiliary plate maybe raised or lowered relative to the main plate.
In Witness whereof I have affixed my signature;
FRANKHAGEMANN.
