Be it known that we, JAMES H; HnrnUnN and ALFRED Pm'rzoLD, citizens of the United States, residing at La Grande, in the county of Union and Sta-te of Oregon, have 1nvented new and useful Improvements in Ejectors, of which the following is a'speclication.
This invention relates to ejectors and has for :in object the provision of a device of this character which in addition to being simple, inexpensive and durable in construction, is susceptible of ready application and manipulation and is possessed of a `wide range of usefulness, particularly in a kitchen .laundryfor handling liquids. With rthe above and other objects in View, inyention further includes the following lfatures and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed outv in the appended claims.

Referring to the drawings in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the reference character 10 indicates a tubular body, a portion of the bore of which'is reduced as at 11. At one end, the body is provided with means for removable attachment to av spigot 12 and for this purpose is internally threaded as shown at 13, while extending around this end of the body are projections 14 which provide linger grips to aid in attaching and removing the device.
Extending longitudinally of the tubular body 10 is a relatively small tube 15 which extends into and is spaced from'the wall of the reduced bore 11. The tub l extends through the wall of the tubular body so as to provide a nipple 16 over which may be secured one end of a hose 17. The opposite l end of this hose is adapted to extend into a tub or container 18.
The lower end of the body 'isf closed as a shown at 19 and located adjacent this closed end is a discharge opening 204 sojthat liquid passing through the tubular-,body 10 will pass outward through the sides of the said body instead of the end. Mounted upon the body 10 and having a sliding lit thereon is a sleeve 21 which 1s preferabl formed of rubber or other suitable materlal and which has extending therefrom van outwardly flared apron 22, the latter extending from the discharge opening 20 as shown in Figure 2 of the drawings and providin an antisplash device, whereby -liqui passing through the opening 2O will be deflected downward into the sink 23. In addition, the
member which is formed by the sleeve 21 and the apron 22 may be moved to position the'sleeve over the o ening 20 so as to close the said opening and) prevent the esca e. of liquid therethrough, so that a combined anti-splash devcc and valve is provided.
The .amount of liquid passing through the opening 20 may be regulated by the position -of the sleeve 2l.

' to close the latter and when the spigot is opened, Water will iiow through the hose`17 into the tub 18. vWhen it is desired to empty thetub, the spigot is opened to permit water from the spigot to pass through-the'v tubular body 10 to effect the removal of water `from the tub 18. Should the tub 18 be sufficiently elevated it will be only necessary to open the spigot to effect an initial fiow through the hose 17, after which the spigot may be closed and the siphonic action will continue until the tub is empty.
The invention is capable of various other uses. For example, `when the device iS attached to a faucet, the receiving end of the hose may be used for skimming various substances, while the latter are cooking, it being only necessary to turn on the faucet and to manipulate the receiving end of the hose over the surface of `the liquid being skimmed. v
lhe invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claims. l

Having described the invention what is claimed 1s:
1. An ejectin device comprising a tubular body adapte at one end to be connected to a source of fluid supply, a combined cut off valve and anti-splas member at the opsite end of the body and a tubular memr carried by 'said body and having a portion-dis osed'in the body and spaced from' lthe wal thereof and directed toward the cut-0E valve and spaced from the latter.
2. An eject' device comprising a tubular body ada te at one end to be connected to a source o fluid supply, the opposite end of said body being closed and rovided with a discharge opening adjacent t e closed end, an annular member slidable upon the body near the closed end and provlding a combined anti-s lash member and cut-oil valve and a tubu ar member extending into the body and spaced from the VWall thereof.
3. 'An ejecting device comprising a tubular member adapted at one end to be connected to a source of fluid supply, the opposite end of said body being closed and provided with a discharge opening adjacent the closed end, a sleeve having a sliding it upon the body and adapted to close the discharge opening, an outwardly flared a ron extend-v ing from the sleeve and defining an 'antisp as h element and a tubular member carried by said body and having a portion thereof disposed within the body and aced from the wall of the latter. sp

An ejeetin device comprising a tubular body adapte at one end to be connected to a source of iiuid sup 1y, a cut-oi valve at the o posite end of t e tubular member and a tu ular member carried by said body and havin a portion disposed 1n the body 'and space from the wall thereof and directed toward said cut-off valve and spaced `from the latter, the said tubular body having a forward bore portion of reduced diameter and the said portion of the tubularmember being spaced from said reduced bore por-' tion.
