IMPROVEMENT IN GRATES FOR COAL-STOVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 152, 17 '7, dated June 30, 1874; application filed March 2, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY GAsKELL, of the city of Hamilton, in the county of VVentworth, in the province of Ontario, in the Dominion of Canada, have invented certain Improvements in Grates for Coal-Stoves and Furnaces, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to combined grates fitted in the fire-box, on the dumping-bar which carries the several grates. There is a shaking-bar fitted in the back of the fire-box or grate, having a projecting holder on it for each of the grates, there being a nipple cast on the flange or rim of each of the grates which the holder clasps, so that all the grates can be shaken or dumped at the same time.
Figure 1 is a plan of the stove with the firebox and combined grates titted in it; Fig. 2, plan of stove with the stop-off plates over two of the grates; Fig. 3, enlarged plan of the tire-box and combined grates; Fig. 4, enlarged plan of same with the stop-off plate fitted on; Fig. 5, enlarged side view of the stop-011' plate.
