CONCRETE FORM.
Application filed November 12, 1923. Serial No. 674,360.
To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, MYnoN BRANDEBERRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bloomdale, in the county of lood and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful lmprovem'ents in Concrete Forms, of which lthe following is'a specification.
My invention relates to improvements 'in forms for concrete structures such as dairies, viaducts and watering tanks.
An object of my invention is to provide a concrete form which demountable.
further object of my invention is to provide a concrete form which may be used to mold a platform and l,supporting columns therefor in one operation.
A still further object of my invention is to provide a concrete form. which, is strong, durable, simple, and inexpensive in construction, whereby the entire form may be taken apart when necessary in the least possible time.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent during the course of the following description.

Figure 5 is al side elevation of the apparatus showing'the manner of connecting several sections of the form together, and y Figure 6 is a fragmentary plan view of Figure In the drawings, wherein for the purpose Aof illustration is shown 4a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numeral 5 designates pairs of front and rear spaced strips forming a base for the form. Connected to the pairs of strips 5 by means of bolts 7 are vertical supporting posts 6 preferably formed of angle iron. The supporting posts 6 near the upper ends thereof are connected by pairs of spaced horizontal metal strap iron strips 8 held in place by means of bolts 9. These strips 8 are disposed in superimposed parallel relation to the pairs of base strips 5. Disposed between the pairs of base strips 5 and the pairs of strips 8 adjacent to the opposite terminals thereof 'are vertically disposed'form plates 10, and
these plates are secured by means of bolts 11 to the stripsr and by bolts 12 to .the strips 8. Similar facing form plates 13 are disposed between the pairs of strips' 51and S at right angles to the form plates 10V and the form plat-es 13 are held inuplaceby means of U-shaped members 111, whichare bolted as at 15 to the pairs of strips and 8. The form plates 10` and "13 forml the mold for the columns of the structure being formed.
Mounted on the plates 12 are spaced .horizontally 'disposed pairs of rupper and lower strips`16, which extend between and `at right 'angles tothe pairs of base strips5"andfthe pairs of strips 8. The' strips 16 are held in place by means of U-shaped members 17 and bolt-s 18. Vertically extending posts 19 preferably formed of angle iron are secured to the horizontal strips 16 by means of bolts or the like 20. 4Inner horizontal strips 21 are provided for brac-ing the form and these strips 21 rest on the lower set of horizontal strips 16. The horizontal strips 21 form an attaching base for the inner vertical aan-.-
gle irons or posts 22, and the inner are bolted as at 23 to the strips 21.
Mounted on the top of the vertical angle irons or posts 22 are horizontal supports posts 22 24 formed of angle iron as clearly shownin'.y
Figure 4 of the drawings. These `supports 24 form an attaching base for the platform or floor form plates 25 which are fastened by means of bolts 26 thereto. U-shaped supporting' members 27 are fastened to the'v vertical irons or posts 22 and 19 form a support for the horizontal form plates 28 which are arranged inv a. plane below the platform or form plate 25 for forming the supporting beams of the structure to be= formed. Between the platform plates 25 and the form plates 28 are inner vertical form plates 29 which are secured to the vertical angle irons or posts 22 by bolts 30. Outer form plates 31 are fastened to the vertical angle irons or posts 22 by means of bolts 32 and to the vertical angle irons or posts 19 by bolts 33. The numeral 34 represents concrete or the like which is poured into the setup form.
In use the form is constructed as shown in the drawings, after which the` concrete is rst poured in the. column forms and then on the platform 25 and form plate 28. With llO this form the entire structure is molded in one operation. When the concrete has set, the form is disassembled. As is clearly seen in the drawings, the entire form is held together by bolts, and to dismantle the torni, the bolts are taken out after which the strips, plates, posts and the like can be easily removed.
Any number of the sections shown in Figures 1 to 4 inclusive can be connected together to form the desired. structure, and in Figures 5 and 6, I have shown two sections A and B connected together. In this instance, the inner forms of the sections tor making the columns are removed and similar column forms 40 are built up between the two sec-tions in the same manner as the column forms in the sections heretofore described. It is obvious that different length form plates 31, strips 5 and 8 and the like can be used when the sections are assembled together.
In order to rigidly connect the sections A and B together, facing angle iron strips 41 and 42 are bolted respectively to the term plates 31, the strips 8 and the column forms 40, as at 43 after which the angle iron strips are bolted together, as at 44.
It is to be understood that the iorin r my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as the preferred embodiment Voit the same, and that various changes in the shape, size and arrangement ot parts may be resorted to without departing troni the spirit ot iny invention or the scope ot the subjoined claims.
Having thus described my invention. I claim is:
l. In a mold constructed from detachable wh a t metal sections, a frame includinp vertical column forms, horizontal channel forms associated with certain ends et' the vertical column torms, and means tor holding` the vertical column forms and horizontal channel forms in position,

In a mold constructed troni detachable metal sections, a frame including vertical supporting standards and horizontal brace strips, vertical rectangular column molds at eachl corner o1 the traine and connected with the standards and brace strips, said standards and brace strips forming means for holding the vertical column forms in spaced relation to each other.
3. In a mold, a trame comprising column molds disposed at each corner thereof, spaced form plates carried by the. top ot' said trame and forming,` horizontal beam molds which communicate with the column molds, and means for holding the 'frame in assembled position.
4. A mold constructed from detachable metal sections comprising a frame including' form plates extending vertically from thtl base thereof and forming molds for col umns, horizontal form plates associated with the vertical form plates to form beam molds, and means for holding the plates in assembled position.
5. A knock-down mold comprising` a 'frame including spaced pairs or' parallel disposed base strips, superimposed pairs oi' supporting` strips, posts connecting the base strips and superimposed supporting strips together, pairs of spaced supporting strips disposed at right angles and between the base strips and the first mentioned strips. column molds :termed of detachable torni plates connected to and between said base strips andv said supporting strips at the points ot intersection ot said base and supporting` strips, inner supportingl columns. means securing the inner supporting colunins to certain ot said strips` supporting bars secured to the upper terminals ot said inner supporting' standards, floor torniy plates detachably secured to said supporting bars, outer beam form plates disposed about and in spaced relation to the platform plates and connecting with said supporting standards, and horizontally disposed beam form plates arranged between the column term plates and the platform form plates and the first mentioned outer beam torni plates.
