EDWARD J. NEINEB, OF ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA..
GAME.
Application filled May 20, 1922. Serial no. 562,273.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD J. NEiNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Erie, in the county of Erie and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in a Game, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is made up of a series of box blanks which the participant, usually a young child, forms into boxes, the boxes being of such size that one box Wlll nest within another and preferably the cover papers on the boxes are of different colors. The game gives great interest to the young and stimulates their ability to definitely pick sizes and to correlate the sizes wlth different colors.
, The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings as follows Fig. 1 shows the finished boxes placed together, these boxes being broken away to show the series.
Fig. 2 a box partly constructed.
Fig. 3 a plan view of a box blank.
Fig. 4 a plan View of a covering paper for the box body.
Fig. 5 a view of a container with the box blanks therein showing a manner of packing the same.
Fig. 6 a plan view of a covering paper for the box cover.
1 marks the box bodies and 2 the box covers. The box covers as shown in Fig. 1
are covered with colored covering papers,
these cover papers being of difierent colors from the bodies and from each other.
The box body and box cover have the fiat portion, as the bottom or top 3, sides at and ends 5. The blank is creased at 6 on the fold line. As these sides and ends are bent up they are secured together by gummed pieces 7 at the corners. After these corners are in place a cover paper 8 or 8 depending on whether a box body or box cover is being finished, is used. These cover papers have the portions 9 correspondin to the bottoms and tops of the covers and bottoms of the boxes, The sides 10 which are notched at 11 are folded on the line 12. They are provided also with the ends 13 which fold on the line 14:. Both the ends and sides have the guinmed edges 8". After the box covers have been formed as shown in Fig. 2 a cover paper is put in place, the gunnned part of the sides 10 folded over .for the fold lines as shown in Fig. 3 with the corner pieces 15 in place, these to be cut out as a part of the game.
These blanks are packed in stepped relation as shown in Fig. 5, the blanks forthe bottoms being reversed in relation from those of the box covers. Thus the container may-be materially reduced which is of advantage in devices of this kind both as to shipment and store space.
What I claim as new is 1. A game comprising a series of associated box blanks of sizes adapted to make a set of box bodies and a set of box covers and of stepped sizes to make the boxes comprising assembled bodies and covers formed from said blanks so proportioned that one box will fit within the next larger box.
2. A game comprising a series of associated box blanks of sizes adaptedto; make a set of box bodies and a set of box covers and of stepped sizes to make the boxes comprising assembled bodies and covers.
formed from said blanks so proportioned that one box will fit within the next larger box and covering paper blanks in sizes corresponding to the box body and box cover blanks.
3. A game comprising a series of associated box'blanks of sizes adapted to make a set of box bodies and a set of box covers and of stepped sizes to make the boxes comprising assembled bodies and covers.
formed from said blanks so proportioned that one box will fit within the next larger box and covering paper blanks in sizes corresponding to the box body and box cover blanks, the box cover covering paper blanks being a diflerent color from that of the box body and box cover blanks.
i. A game comprising a series of associated box blanks of sizes adapted to make a set of box bodies and a set of box covers and of stepped sizes to make the boxes comprising assembled bodies and covers formedfrom said blanks so proportioned that one box will fit within the next larger box and covering paper blanks in sizes corresponding to the box body and box cover blanks, the
box cover covering paper blanks being a box will fit Within the next larger box, in in combination with a container, the body blanks being arranged in stepped relation therein and the cover blanks in stepped relation reversed from that of the body blanks.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand EDWARD J. NEINER.
