Sept. 16 1924.
A. ANGEL! FENCEPOST F le y 19 1923 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 W my a 7 2 4 1 fi m E w I 4. 2 4 R INVENTOR ATTORN EY WITNESS:
Patented ept. 16, 1924.
U N I T El) 5 ANAGLETQ ANGELI, OF WEST FBAINKFDBT, ILLINOIS.
FENGEPOST.
Application filed May 19,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that ANAoLETo ANGELI, a citizen of the United States, residing at lVest Frankfort, in the county of Franklin and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Fenceposts, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to fence posts, the general object of the invention being to pro vide a post made of cement and provided with means whereby the. fence wires can be easily and quickly attached thereto.
Another object of the invention is to provide means for attaching a barbed wire to the top of the post.
This inventlon also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the s v eral views. and in which Figure 1 is a side view of a post constructed in accordance with this invention.
Figure 2 is a face view.
Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view.
Figure 4 is a transverse sectional view.
Figures 5 and 6 are views showing how the post is formed.
Figure 7 is an enlarged view of one of the reinforcing brackets.
In these views 1 indicates the postwhich is preferably formed of concrete and is of tapered shape. One face of \the post is formed with the grooves .2 to receive the fence wires and the post is provided with holes 3 which are parallel with the grooves and which are designed to receive the tie tionary part 7 and a movable part 8 which is threaded on a rod 9 extending into the post.
This post may be constructed in a mold. such as that shown at 10, and I prefer to embed reinforcing wires 11 therein these wires being connected with the arms of brackets 12 which are held in the mold by the screw rods 13. By tightening these rods by means of the wing nuts 14: the reinforcing wires can be stretched and the top rod 13 can act to receive'the clamp after the post is formed.
This post is practically indestructible and it can be used over and over again as it a simple matter to remove the fence wire; therefrom and fasten new fence wires thereto.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall with in the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is A post of the class described formed of concrete and having grooves in one face thereof and holes passing through the post parallel with the grooves, brackets embedded in the post adjacent each end thereof reinforcing wires connected with the braclc ets, screw rods connected with the brackets and passing through. the ends of the post and a clamp connected with the top of the post by the upper screw rod.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ANAOLETO ANGELI.
