I By the construction and arrangement shown and described, the closely spaced, parallel, saw-guiding rollers at opposite ends of the members '7, are rotatably mounted and mounted for any necessary adjustments, in a very rigid, eflicient and desirable manner.
If desired, saw-guiding extensions may be employed, as shown in Fig. 6. In'this view,
vertically alined bearings 41 are shown car vried by the posts 19 at opposite sides of the saw path. In these bearings, vertical rods 42 are slidably received, said rods being of a length to projectupwardly beyond vthe posts and having their upper ends bent downwardly as at43 into parallel relation, forming auxiliary saw guiding means.
At suitable intervals, one edge of the bottom board 1 is provided with upstanding stock-guiding posts 44 which are suitably s cured. to metal plates 45, the latter being in turn secured to the board 1 by screws or the like 46, as shown most clearly in Fig. 3;. Two of these. posts are preferably so located, as to indicate the proper positions for the members 7, when they are setior cutting either right or left hand miters of .45". Thus, it anyone has changedthe adjustment of the box after it has once been set, and someone wishes to cut a miter, he can tellat a glance before the cut-has been made, that the adjustment of the box has been changed. It will be seen from the foregoing that my invention is rather simple and inexpensive, yet that it will be highly efiicient.
Particular.attention is directed to the fact that the device maybe quickly and easily disassembled and compactly positioned for carrying in small space. For mstance, all
of the metal parts and the wooden-rollers may readily be carried in an ordinary tool box and when theiru'se is necessary, they may be quickly and easily attached to an oi.'di11a1'y.two by six or two by eight, so as to retain them in operative relation and produce an effective miter box.
As excellent results are obtainable from the details disclosed, they are preferably followed; However, within. the scope of the invention as claimed, numerous vmo difications may be made.
I claim 2- 1. A miter. box comprising a bottom member, a base plate secured to the lower side thereof and. having horizontal trackage" curved about a central point, a pair of crossed horizontally elongated members under the bottom member. and base plate and pivoted to the latter at said central'point, said crossed members each having a portion slidably engaged with said trackage, saw
guides rising from the ends of said crossed members, and means for holding said members in augularly adjusted positions."

A miter box comprising a bottommember, a base plate of circularoutline secured to the lower side of said bottom member, said base plate having a groove in its edge and a downwardly projecting bearingstud at its center, a pair of crossed centrally depressed horizontally elongated members under said bottom member and, base plate and each provided with a portionslidably received in said groove, said crossed members having openings. through. which said bearing stud passes, saw guides rising from .the ends of said crossed members, and meansyror holding these members in angularly adjusted positions.
