,Referring more particularly to the drawings, the paper is unvvound from roll 5 and passed over guide roll 6 and gluing rolls 7 The gluing rolls are na-rronT and place oontinuous strips et glue or other adhesive on the bottom side of the paper. The paper is next passed over the reversing roll 8, whereby the lower surface carrying the strips of glue is brought to the top. Fig. 4

At the saine time rollers 17 and 18 act as pressing rollers to press the glue strips against the folds of the paper lying opposite them, as shown in Fig. 7.
As the result of this process there is formed a continuous tube having a tuck in the left side, and a` slitted opening delined by 'doubled edges at the right side, as shown in Fig. 8.
This tube now passes through a cutter compo-sed of a stationary blade 19 and a rotating shear blade 20. Blade 20 can berotated at any desired speed, thereby cutting the tube into lengths suitable for garment bags.
lt will be obvious that the top and bottom ol' the blank can be closed by any Wellknown means, thereby producing a sideopening garment bag having double, reinforced edges along the opening.
It Will be seen that the method of manufacturing bags above disclosed provides a continuous process, since all of the operations are performed While the paper is in motion.
I claim:
, 1. ln the process of producing bags, the steps of applying adhesive to certain parts of a strip of paper, formino* the strip into a tube open at one side, and pressing the portions carrying adhesive against the portions lying opposite them.
2. In the process of producing bags, the steps of applying glue to certain parts of a strip of paper, folding the paper into tubular shape, slitting one side of the tube, and pressing the glued portions against the portions lying opposite them.
3. In the process of producing bags, thel stepsef applying glue to certa-in parts of a strip of paper, folding the paper into tubular shape With a tuck in one side, slitting the paper at the bottom of the tuck, and pressing` the glued portions against the port-ions lying opposite them.
l. In the process ol producing bags, the steps ot' applying' strips ol' glue to a sheet of paper, the first strip along one edge of the sheet and tWo other strips spaced from the edges of the sheet, folding the sheet into tubular shape with a tuck in one side, the. first strip of glue overlying the unglued edge of the sheet and the ot-her strips of glue lying opposite the folds of the tuck, slitting the paper Within the tuck, and pressing the glued portions against the portions lying opposite them.

The method of producing bags which comprises applying glue to Certain parts of a strip of paper, folding the paper into tubular shape, slitting one side of the tube, pressing the glued port-ions against the portions lying opposite them to form an opensided tube, Cutting the tube into bag lengths and closing the top and bottom of the blank.
