Mounted on theother end of the machine is a transversely extendin and rotatably mounted drum 11, which wil preferably be of the same dimensions as the ldrum 10. Mounted on the drums 10 and 11 is a belt 12 which may be of any suitable fabric, preferably canvas. If desired, the belt may consist of a suitable supporting material as for instance, leather, which leather will be covered with fabric. The belt 12 should be heldtaut during service and for that dpurpose the adjusting bolts 13 are provide by means of which the drum ll'may be adjusted longitudinally of the machine. The trunnions 33 will be provided with slots which will permit of a vertical movement of the roller 32. `The worm 31 is adapted to drive the roller 34 through a suitable wormwheel. The roller 34 is mounted in trun- 'nions 35. These trunnions 35 will -also be provided with slots, permitting the vertical movement of the roller 34. Preferably, the roller v34 will b e spring-pressed b springs 36, 36, to its lowermost position. e roller 32 may be similarly (spring-pressed to its lowermost sition, if esired. The driving means for t e roller 34 will preferably be so designed that the periphera speed of said roller is less than the speed o translation of the belt 12, whereby said roller will eifectively pack paste into the grids.
, Pivotally mounted' on either side lof the bed 1, preferably on the shaft 14, are two bracket members 37, 37. Said brackets are adapted to carry a roller 38 which will be positively driven from the shaft 14* by suitable transmission means, illustrated in Fig. 2 as a.pair of gears 40 and 41. 'Rie roller 38 is adapted to contact with the belt,27 and will scra oi any excess -of paste adhering to sai belt 27. Also mounted on theV bracketsv 37, 37 is the scraper 39 which will engage-the roller 38 to scrape o the,
pastefrom said roller. The paste'may be collected from the 'scraper 39 in any suitable way. The rollers 32, 34 and 38 which are intended to come in direct contactwith the paste, will preferably be made of brass,
or at least have. a brass surface. The rollers 23, 24, 10 and 11 may be of an vsuitable material, referably hardened steel.

One embodimentV of the present invention has been described in det-ail. Various modiications may be made therein without departing from the scope of the invention. This case is intended to cover all such modications falling within the scope of the a'p'- pended claims.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is 1. A machine for pastinstorage battery grids comprising a pair of elts mounted to engage the two sides of a storage battery grid, said belts being instrumental 'in forcing active material into the grids.
2. A plate pasting machine comprising belt means mounted to en age the two sides of a vstorage battery `gri forcing paste into said grid, said belts cooperaing in pressing active material into the ri g- 3. A plate pasting machine comprising fabric belt means mounted to4 engage the two sidesof a v storage battery grid, and means for forcing paste into said grid, said forcing means including as a, part thereof abutment means mounted within said belt means.
