In order to illustrate the application of this invention, a cui'b box 4 isshown whichk is of standard construction and includes a base 5 having' upstanding tapering ribs (i on theopposite sides thereof; Also, a supply pipe 7 of usual construction is arinnlgedV through the curbbox shown inF 1g. l and is equipped with a standard type of cook.

The supporting member in its entirety including the member *8 and boxing 10, may'be made of metal or any other suitable Vmaterial and may be cast, molded :or form-ed in any other' desired manner.V The configuration of the manner herein set forth is deemed important in order that the curb box will be sustained in a vert-ical position at all times. lt is, moreover, import-ant that locking f means be provided on the ,boxing ylOwvhich overhang'the base ot' the curb box so as to prevent vertical displacement of the latter. The present device will hold the curb box and support together' so that it moved at all they will be moved as a unit and immaterial of the expansion and contraction of 'the earth caused by changes in' atmospherical conditions, there lwill be no change in the relative conditions of the curb boxVK and the support. f i
It is to be 'understood thatvarious changes may be made in this device especially in the details ot construction, proportion and arrangement o'f parts Without departing from the spirit. and scope of the invention as covered in the claims appended hereto.
Vhat is claimed is z- 1. A curb box and coelsupport including' a supporting member engageable beneath the cock of a supply pipe and adapted for the reception of a curb box, and means forming a part of the supporting member to ,prevent longitudinal displacementy of the curb box from the latter.I
