To all whom it may concern 'Be it known that I, SYDNEY PAUL, a citizen ot the United States, residing in the city of Lima, county of Allen, State of Ohio,
have invented a new and useful Jerk Abpulls, as quick starts in the operation oit motor vehicles, whereby the transmission of suchjerks to a person seated- 1n the vehicle will beminimized.
This invention contemplates the use of chairs or the like in connection with commercial passenger-vehicles, such Jfor instance .as that'shown by mein vapplications Serial `No. 5932 and No. 5933, both filed January 3l, 1925, and now pending in the Patent Oiiice; and in Design PatentNo. 66,980, dated April 7 1925.
Other objects and particular advantages ot the invention will suggest themselves in the course of the following description, and that which is new will be correlated in the appended claim.
One manner of carrying outthe principles of my invention ina practical and efficient way is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l shows a pair of my devices in connection with the lower portion of a chair with which they are connected. Figure 2 is a perspective view of the casing alone of one of the devices. Figure 3 is a perspective view of the piston-rod and vhead alone. Figure 4 shows the spring alone. And Figure 5 is a vertical central section taken through one of the devices.

As the two devices required tor each chair are identical with each other I will describe but one andthe same parts of the otherwill be denoted bylike character, where shown.
