E. R. LINEHAN STOOL RING COVER Filed March 5 19 IJvvENToR:
A rrozwvzx Patented tease, tease M'MJW EDWIN JR. LINEHAN, OF RIVER, FALLS, WISCUNSIIUB STOOL-RING COVER.
Application filed March 3, 1824. Serial No. 696549.
To aZZ whom it may concern Be it known that I, EDWIN R. lnNnHAN, a citizen of the United Statet, residing at River Falls, in the county of Pierce and State of \Visconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stool-Ring Covers, of which the following is a specilication. I a
My invention relates to a sanitary appliance for toilet bowls and the object is to provide a simple covering device for the rings or seat portion of such bowls and made of such material as can be readily washed down through the sewer by the regular flushing means.
The accompanying drawing is a top view of my paper cover showing its flaps 15 both as normally cut and in dotted line as folded partly under the ring of the toilet seat.
Referring to the drawing by reference numerals, the invention consists of a sheet 11 of suitable paper cut, as shown, to the to say that the ring is usually hinged to therear top portion of the bowl by two spaced hinges between which the rear flap 1?) of the paper cover 11 is placed and thus held against lateraldisplacement upon the ring. Said paper cover 15 formed with a large aperture 12' corresponding to the usual main aperture in the seat ring (not shown), and has near its front end a pair of flaps l5,' preferably formed of a single flap by slitting it at 16.
These flaps 15 are adapted to be folded. downwardand outward as shown in dotted 40 line, so as to be held between the top of the bowl and the seat ring,'or rubber bumpers l0 fixed on the ringwi'll bear upon the paper cover.
In the operation or ufe of the device, each person using the seat places a clean paper cover 11 on it and before leaving the place removes said cover down into the bowl, so that the next person can place the next clean sheet on the seat.
What I claimis=- Y A seat ring cover for toilet bowls comprising a sheet of paper out to conform to the general outline of the seat ring arrearwardly extending, integral flap on said cover adapted to be inserted and held between the hinge: of the seat ring to hold the rear part of the ring cover in place; said sheet having an aperture conforming to the shape of the rear-part of the bowl-opening. said sheet 6 being split longitudinally forward of saidaperture to form two adjacent flaps both adapted to be bent downwardly and horizontally under the seat ring andthere engaged between the bowl and said seat ring su'bstam tially as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
EDWIN R. LINEHAN.
