To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, EARL E. GINTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ranshaw, in the county of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented cer-. tain new and useful Improvements in CombinedCompasses and Protractors, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a com bined compass and protractor, and has for its principal object to provide a device which is eflicient and reliable in measuring angles, and will be particularly useful to such persons as draftsmen, engineers, carpenters, etc.
The invention contemplates the provision of an exceedingly simple structure which may be placed on the market at-a relatively low cost, and one which is not likely to easily become outiof order, is strong, durable, light, compact, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designs a With the above and numerous 'otherobjects in view, as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in thevcombination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed In the drawing:

Referring to thedrawing in detail, it will be seen that numerals 1 and 2 designate the le s of the combined compass and protractor which are pivoted together, asat3, and the lower ends thereof terminate in points as at The leg 2 is of a tubular formation and has a drum 5 formed in an intermediate por tion thereof. The drum 5 provided with a window 9 A disc 10 is fixed to the shaft 8 and provided with an annular flange or rim 11, which is adapted to move over the window 9 and has on its exterior surface suitable indicating indicia, which may be seen through the window 9 for a purpose to be brought out later. The indicia read through the window 9 will designate the angle in degrees or any other suitable measuring unit. A stop 23" is provided in the drum dandis engageable by a lug 2 1 disc 10, and the rim extending from the rim 11.
