Description
Dec. 22 1925- 1,566,422 E. G. PATTERSON SOUNDING TOY Filed Feb. 14 .1923
I IIIIIIIIII A; Firm- 50M ATTORNEY Patented Dec. 22, 1925.
PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD G. PATTERSON, OF BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA.
SOUNDING TOY.
Application filed February 14, 1923.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD G. PATTER- SON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bismarck, in the county of Burleigh and State of North Dakota, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sounding Toys (Case B), of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a novelty, and more particularly to a device including a noise making structure in combination with an article depositing or releasing structure which operate in unison.
Another object of this invention is to provide a bellows-like tube having a reed sound making device associated therewith which upon depression of the bellows-like structure will make an audible sound.
Other objects of the invention will appear in the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein Fig. 1 is a top plan of the improved novelty.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the novelty. Fig. 8 is a longitudinal section througn the novelty taken on the line 33 of Fig. i.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the improved novelty comprises a col- 80 lapsible like body 1 which in turn includes upper and lower rigid plates 2 and 3 which are connected by flexible material as shown Serial No. 619,034.
at 4 so as to permit the pressing of the plates 2 and 3 towards each other for forcing air outwardly'through the horn 5 to operate the reed 6 for making a sound which may be gauged by the size, strength or type of reed used. The plates 2 and .3 are provided with centrally located openings 7 which are connected by a collapsible tube 8. The tube 8 opens out. through the plates 2 and 3, as clearly shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings so as to permit an object, such as a bean, pea or the like to be placed in the tube to be forced therefrom by the user of the novelty.
It is, of course, to be understood that the invention may be constructed in other manners and the parts associatedin different relations and, therefore, I do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claims hereunto appended.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is:
A device as set forth comprising a pair of plates, collapsible material connecting the plates together for movement towards and away from each other, a reed arranged to be operated by compression of air between the plates, and a tube supported by the plates with ends open to receive therein an object.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
EDVVAR-D G. PATTERSON.
