This invention, generally stated, relates to rooiingaconstructions and has more especial relation to roolings on which roofing pitch is applied thereto and in which gutter hangers are supported by the roofing boards.

The principal object of the present invention is to provide a simple, ecient and comparatively inexpensive roofing structure of the character stated in which the roofing pitch is guarded against sliding forward; in which the roofing felt is securely clamped with respect to the roofing boards; and in which thegutter, including its support, is

' detachably clamped with respect to the covering strip, roofing felt, and roofing boards.

Other and further objects of the present yinvention relate to the provision of general details of construction and arrangement and combination of parts for attaining the results sought by the leading object.

Other and further objects not at this time appearing Will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

The invention consists of the novel construction hereinafter described and finally claimed.

The nature, characteristic features and scope of the invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming` part hereof, and in which:

Referring now to the drawings in detail and with especial relation to Fig. 1, the reference numeral 2 designates what is coinmonly known in the building trade as the barge. Supported by wall 1 are roofing boards designated 3 which as shown in Fig. 1 are longitudinally disposed. Fitted to the top of therooting boards 3 is a metallic member 4 theeXtreme outer end of which is bent at right angles as at 5 to entirely cover the exposed end of the roofing boards, and thereafter is bent outwardly to provide a dripping piece G. superimposed upon the metallic member 4 is a slab-of roofing felt designated (i.` Uponthe roofing felt is laid The roofing pitch terminates short of the extreme outer lends of the roolingboards and roofing felt and 3 are securely clamped with respect to cach other. For this purpose a bolt 9 is employed which penetrates the above described parts and is provided with a nut 10 adapted to be screwed home 'against the covering strip, and a nut 11 is employed for abutting against the underside of the roofing boards 3. Carried by bolt 9 is a gutter support 12 which is of angular construction and nuts 13 and 14 are employed for clamping said gutter support with respect to bolt 9. The inclined portion of the gutter support has attached thereto by means of a screw 15 the outermost roofing board overhan s the wall 1 and barge 2 so that strengthening or reinforcing' means `are lreqlpired to prevent the said end board from reaking oil'. Between th'e horizontal extension 22 and the outermost portion of the roong boards is `provided a channel member 24 and the bolt 9, described in Fig. 1, penetrates said channel member and said horizontal extension 22, and `a nut 25 is present for clampin the channel member against the underside of the rooing boards, and another nut 26 is present for clamping the horizontal extension 22 in abutting position with nut 25.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. A roofing structure com rising supporting means, roofing'boards t ereon, roofing felt upon said boards, roofing pitch upon said felt, a covering strip arrange in parallelism with the outer edges of said roofing boards and upon said felt and abutting against the outermost edge of said roofing pitclnfmeans including bolts and nuts for clamping said covering strip' down upon said felt, and a gutter forsaid structure.

A rooting structure comprising a supporting means, roofing boards thereon, roofing felt upon said boards, a dripping piece intermediate said rooiin boards. and roofing felt and extended over teoutermost edge of said roofing boards, roofing pitch upon said felt, a covering strip arranged in parallelism with the outer edges of Said roofing boards and upon said :felt and abutting against the outermost edge of said roofing pitch, means including bolts and nuts for clamping said covering strip downupon said felt, and a gutter for said structure. 3.
