To -all whom it may concern: projecting limb portions, which are prefer-- Be it known that 1;, IRWIN E. Come, a ablymovable. VVit-hin'the body portion a citizen of the United States, and a resident sound-producing deviceis disposed and con of the city of New York, borough ofv Man nccted to certain of the limb portions. such.
6 h-attan, in the county and State of New as the legs, whereby the movement of the York, have invented a new and improved legs will cause the sound-producing device Toy with Movable Features, of which the to operate. i following is a specification. Within the head portion of the figure cer- This invention relates to a toy and more tain features, such as the eyes and teeth, are

support within the hollow head portion with Referring more particularly-to the drawa plurality offeatures formed on said supmgs, the doll has a hollow body portion 1 port and disposed at the rear of feature and a hollow head portion 2. Projecting openings in the head, with the support being from the body portion are legs 3 and 4 and 20 resiliently mounted-in such a manner that a p a1r of arms, one of which is shown and the movable support will cause an oscilladeslg'nated by the numeral 5, Figure2. The tion of the sup-port whenever the toy is legs are preferably connected to a base plate moved or agitated in any manner, 7 i 6 formlng part of a sound-producing device.

It is obvious, therefore, that whenever the legs are manipulated to produce a sound the arms 5 are moved and the movement incidental to the operation of the sound-producing device will cause a sufficient movement of the body to produce a vibration of the support 16 in the head for the features, such as the eyes, whereby this additional vibration will enhance the attraction of the toy for the child. The fact that the spring 15 is considerably resilient will cause the eyes to move upon the slightest movement of the toy, whether such movement is directly resultant of the movement of the sound-producing device or merely resultant from the movement of the toy as a whole.
In the form shown in Figures 3 and 4: the plate 146* is used to support a Spring 15* on the other end of which is mounted a curved feature supporting plate 16*, the features on this plate being the eyes 17 and representations of teeth 20. In the figure shown in Figure 3 an opening 21 is provided through which the teeth 20 can be seen. In this form of the invention the toy comprises merely the hollow head portion 22 to which a handle such as 23 is connected. It is understood, of course, that the picturization of the teeth in addition to the eyes may be applied to the previous form of the invention if desired.
It is therefore, obvious that I have provided a simple, efficient and decidedly attractive toy for children, preferably in the form of a doll, or dO-lls head, provided with movable limbs and features in such manner that the movement of certain of the limbs Will cause the movement of the others, and the movement of the body incidental to this action. will result in the vibration of certain of the features, giving the combination of movement in conjunction with the production of sound simulating a voice, which makes the toy exceedingly attractive.
What I claim is:
1. A toy which comprises a hollow head portion having feature openings therein, a movable support within the head portion, a plurality of features formed on said support and adapted to be disposed back of said openings, and a spring for resiliently mounting said support, said spring being connected to the back of the support and extending rearwardly therefrom so that the support may be moved in a plurality of dif-' ferent directions across the openings when the toy is agitated.
2. A toy comprising a body, a hollow head having feature openings therein," a
rigid support mounted in said head, a movable support in said head and provided with a plurality of features adapted to be disposed back of said openings, and 'a coil spring connecting the movable support with the rigid support so that the movable support may be moved across the opening. arcs" having radii passing substantially through the center of an opening upon slight movement or agitation of thebody.
3. A toy, a hollow head portion having feature openings therein, a movable support in the head havin aplurality of features disposed at the openings, means connecting the back of the support to the head portion, said connecting means being rc- IRWIN E. Conn.
