CEMENT-STUCCO ANCHOR NAIL.
Application led September 25, 1924. Serial No. 739,828.
proved double headedcement stucco anche]` nail which has for its principal object to provide a nail which Will effectively hold a base and cement stucco applied over same in place, and which will prevent the stucco r from becoming loose, buckled, twisted or warped. i
Another object is to provide a nail which, after being driven into a base to fasten said base securely and snugly to a building, will act as an anchorage or key for plaster ap plied over said base.
A further object of the invention is to provide at low cost a nail effective in th: uses to which such nails are adaptable.
To this end the invention contemplates a double headed nail in a shape readily adapted t0 manufacture and easy to affix, which will afford an economical as Well as an effective device for anchoring plastic materials yand bases. i
With these and other objects in view,
which will readily appear as the nature of i the invention is better understood, `the invention consists in the novel construction and combination of parts Which Will be fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawing in which* Figure 1 is a front view in elevation of a nail construct d in accordance with this invention, showing the inner and outer head. Figure 2 isa front view of a section of a building Wall showii'igthe nails constructed in accordance with this invention in place before and after plaster has beenapplied to the base fastened by the nails to the siding, and illustrates the method of securely anchoring the base and plast r coat.
Referring now to the'idrawing, by characters of reference, the letterC designates a perspective view of a nail constructed in accordance with this invention in place bee fore the plaster coat has been applied, with asphalt base E, the unrolled portion of which is shown fastened snugly to the siding B of the building, head extended.
Let-ter A designates the studding of the building to which the siding boards designated by letter B are fastened.
L tter D designates a portion of a wall after the cement stucco or plaster has been applied over the base and siding so as to completely cover over the projecting outer heads represented by the dotted figures.
Letter D by its designation also illustrates and with its outer the' nails in place with th ir outer heads' projectingy evenly from the base and siding' a distance suflicient to act as an anchorage lfor the plaster applied over said base and siding.
While ini the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention, it is to be understood that such changes may b madein the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as Will fall Within the spirit and scope of the invention.
I claim:
1. A double headed nail Whose heads are flat and of extended surface, the inner side of the inner head being adapted to engage a base.- to be fasten d to the siding of a building, and the outer head being spaced from the inner a distance sufficient to act as an anchorage for the plaster applied over said base and siding.
2. In the combination of a siding, asphalt base and plaster coat, a double headed nail whose inner head is flat on its inner side to snugly ngage the base and whose outer head is fiat and extended and completely1 covered by the plaster to act as a key therefor.
