Description

Patented Nov. 10, 1925.
UNITED STATES ETTA MARIE BURKET, OF BANGOR. MAINE.
CLEANSING AND POLISHING COMPOUND.
No Drawing;
' T all whom it may concern-' Be it known that I, ETTA M. BURKET, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bangor, in the county of Penobscot'and State -11 of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cleansing and P01- ishing Compounds, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to certain improve ments .in cleansing and polishing compounds and it is an object of the invention to provide a novel and improved compound of this- 6 (floated), 1 cups; warm waterfl gallon. v
After the foregoing ingredients have been thoroughly admixed there is then added pounds of whiting and after continued further mixing the resultant compound is placed in cans or other desired containers and let dry for forty-eight hours, after which the compound is ready foruse.
Application filed March 7, 1925. Serial No. 13,913.
After drying the compound in each of the containers it is substantially in the form of a cake yetcan be readily transferred to a suitable cloth upon rubbing such cloth on the cake so that silverware and the like may be effectively cleansed and polished,
The rouge in addition to providingthe cleansing and polishing action serves as a 40 binder to maintain the compound in its desired consistency, while the chalk in addition to its polishing action provides a body. The pumice serves as an effective cleansing medium. The whiting also provides an effective polishing medium and also operates as a body and facilitates. owing to the fact that it is last applied, the requisite forming of the cakes.
My improved compound is particularly advantageous for use as it, is wholly and entlrely non-poisonous nor does it have any aggravatlngaction on the skin whereby the compound may be used without fear of injurious effects of any kind upon the person.
I claim A cleansing and polishing compound comprising rouge, precipitated chalk, floated pumice, water, and whiting in the proportions specified. 1
In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my signature. 1
ETTA MARIE BURKET.
