al 'citizen ofthe United Sfta-tesyanddresident `of f Cleveland,l in the county g fof Gayahoga and State of Ohio, haveinvented-` certain new and ,useful Improvements-in- Bread mon door is employed for closing the one opening leading to all compartments; this door when opened gives access to all the articles in the box. f Y
It is also provided with Ventilating openings which prevent mold from forming upon the baked articles, but which are not large enough orso placed as to permit complete drying out of the moisture in the baked articles.
This invention includes a box provided with a front opening and with a shelf or shelves forming compartments separated from each -other thereby, and a door provided with marginal flanges which swing freely' upon pivoted bolts or pins upon each side of the horizontal central partition, the aforesaid bolts passing also through the sides of the box.
This partition and the flanged door are removable together from the box, to permit cleanin all the parts.
The invention is herewith more fully de scribed, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and specifically pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings Fig1, is l enclosure, and a flat swinging door for said opening, said door provided with marginal a front elevation of the box showing the doorfclosed; Fig. 2, is a vertical central longitudinal section thereof; Fig. 3, is a perspective of the box with tliecover'o'pened; Fig. 4 is a perspective of the door.L
yIn, these views A, isa box, provided with a large opening B, in the front wall thereof, C and D are upper and lower flanges at the front of the box, E, is a horizontal partition having depending rear and side flanges F, and G, G, respectively.
This partition is positioned intermediater 0f the top and bottom Wall of the box, and is ,bolted at H, to therea-r wall thereof; AI, is the fdoor which is provided with the flanges L l, OIleach` side thereof. p Fliese flanges are pivoted to the! flanges Gtieflhe partition. bym/2ans 0f .the belts .l- -Kwhich,pass also'through kthe side walls ofthe box. L
The. partition. `is also y supported, uponvthe bolts. K', K, and the flan es J, J, of the door p ass `between flanges walls of the box.
The door can be swung to afsubstantially vertical position, the top edge of the door making contact with the flange C, upon the G, and the side front of the box and the bottom edge of the door resting upon the inwardly turned edge L, of the lower flange D, of the front of the box` f The door swings freely around the =front edge of the aforesaid partition and when thrown back assumes a substantially horizontal position above the articles, which rest upon the partition, also the lower partition of the box will be open for access to its contents. r
Alrnob VM, is employed kfor raising and lowering the door.V
The. side edges of .the door fit closely against the sides of the box, and when closed there will be no opening through which in-` sects can enter the box.
Small perforations N, N, in the sides of the box above and below said partition permit sufficient air to prevent mold from forming upon the baked articles in the box, but are not large enough to cause them to become dry.
Having described .the invention what l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: p
' l. Ina bread box, an enclosure provided with a vertical front opening, a horizontal partition attached to the rear wall of said opposite flanges, said fianges pivoted to the sides ofsaid partition, and to the sides of r said enclosure, said door revolvable within vided with flanges above and below said re-ENT YerrIier.. l
opening, a door revolvable in said box, hinge members for said door, a horizontal partition in said enclosure, said partition having flanged sides, pivots passing through said flanged sides of said partitions and through the side walls of said box, said hinge members uponsaid door revolvable on said pivots between theV sides of said partition and the side walls of said box, the upper andY lower edges of said door turned reversely and adapted to vrest upon the said upper and lower flanges above and below said vertical front opening in said box, when said door is closed, said door assuming a horizontal position in said boxwhen withdrawn therefrom.
8. In a bread box, an enclosure provided with a vertical front opening, said box provided with flanges above and below said opening, a door revolvable in said box, hinge members for said door, a horizontal partition in said enclosure, said partition having ianged sides, pivots passing through said flanged sides of said partition and through the side walls of said box, the upper and lower edges of said door resting upon the said upper and lower flanges above and below said front opening in said box, when said door is closed, and Ventilating openings in the sides of said box, above and below said partition.
In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand this 25th day of February, 1921.
