l.v rLhe combination, with aplatforrn, of ropes extending substantially'parallel to the sides of said platform and crossing one another adjacent the corners thereof, and posts secured to the platform for supporting said ropes and spaced-away from the crossing; points of the latter for the purpose specified.

`pairs of posts secured to said platform near each corner thereof, and ropes extei'id'mgbetweenv posts at adjacent corners to form barriers at the sides of the platform, said ropes crossing one another to form the cor ners of the barrier and the crossing points of the ropes being spaced from the `adjacent posts for the purpose specified.

5. The combination, with a post having inclined passages therein, or a flexible barrier passed through said passages and extending horizontally from the post, whereby the mouths of said passages have a clamping action upon-the barrier.
6. The combination with a post havinginclined passages therein, of a flexible barrier looped through said passages and extending` horizontally from the post, whereby the mouths of said passages have auclamping-4 means for pressing said postsinto engagel ment with the ends of said perforations.
