This invention relates to holders for steel wool, and has for its object to provide such a device for holding the wool and thereby avoid injury to the fingers of the user as is now the case whenever steel wool is used; as, for instance, in. cleaning cooking utensils, rubbing down surfaces, etc.

Another object of the invention is to provide such a device which will readily grasp the wool and hold it firmly while in use.

Other objects and advantages of the in-' vention will be apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Referring to the drawing more in detail, the invention consists of a holder 1 made of one iece of resilient metal andshapedto provide two legs or arms 2 which normally diverge. The legs 2 are connected at their upper ends by the loop portion 3 to provide added resiliency.

The lower portions of the legs 2 are formed'into disk-like portions or terminals 4, each of which is provided with a depression 5 to receive the fingers of the operator. The edges of the disks are bent inwardly, as shown at 6, and provided with the teeth 7. These teeth, as shown, extend radially of the disk and then outwardly; that is, toward the other disk. As thus formed, the teeth easily grasp the wool and hold it firmly in position. It should be noted that the rounded portions f the holder present onl smooth surfaces to the article being rub ed and, therefore, cannot damage it in any way.

What I claim as new and desire to'secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A holder for steel wool comprising integrally connected arms formed of sheet material, relatively large disc-shaped members carried by said arms, and inwardly extending teeth formed on the periphery of each disc, the teeth of each disc extending at right angles to the-plane of the disc.

' 2. A holder for steel wool comp-rising a pair of arms, relatively large disc-shaped members carried by said arms, inwardly extending teeth formed on the periphery of said disc-shaped members, each disc-shaped member being formed with a finger depression at substantially the center thereof.

3. A holder comprising a pair of resiliently connected arjns, substantially diskshaped terminals formed on said arms, the edges of said disk-shaped terminals being provided with teeth, and depressions formed in the arms.
