RING TRAVELER.

To all whom it may concem:
Be it known that I, PHILIP C. WENT- WORTH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, county of Providence, State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rlng Travelers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to ring travelers for use in ring spinning or twisting and particularly to the construction of such a device in such manner as to avoid or eliminate the loading of the traveler by lint or fly or other wise.
My invention contemplates the construc-' tion of a traveler which in its operation will avoid this loading and thus maintain the traveler at its desired weight, thus making clearing or cleaning unnecessary .as my traveler at all times remains clean? The construction and operation of my traveler, together with a selected embodiment which well illustrates the principles involved, is described and illustrated in the accompanying specification and drawings, and the characteristic features of novelty particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
Throughout the specification and drawings like reference characters are employed to indicate corresponding parts, and in the drawings:
Figs. I and II and III, respectively, are side, end and top views of a traveler in accordance with my invention.

I have shown in the drawings a standard type of traveler comprising a center or circle portion 1 and a terminal or end portion or horns 2. The circle portion is provided with one or more annularly disposed vent openings 3 therethrough the efi'ect of which is to permit a draft directly into the traveler itself and substantially transverse to the circle or bow portion 1, over which the fibres .of the'load tend to drape themselves in their "normal accumulating effect, and this'draft upon striking the fibres of the load at this videdwith annularly disposed round openings.
