Referring specifically to the several views, wherein similar reference numerals desig-f hate corresponding-parts throughout, n y
novel vanity 'case'or toilet-article comprlses va powder and pufl box 10, the same being preferably formed .of some fanciful outline, such as the octagonal form illustrated in the drawing; k The powder and pufl? box is composed of a rear w 12', there being a suitable lid 13 hinged to the side wall and containing the externally visible mirror 14. The hinged lid 13 is preferably provided with the finger-engaging projection 15 and with the small catch 16, the latter being adapted'to engage a corresponding projection 17 formed the powder and puff box, so thatthe hinged lid will snap closed and will stay in such position. The space between the back of the mirror 14 and the rear wall 11 is adapt ed 'to house suitable powder and a powder all 11 and side walls in the side wall of illustrated in Figure 4, or may be partially folded and thus act as asupport and hold the mirror in a slightly inclined position upon a supporting surface, as illustrated in Figure '5.
The hinged handle 18 is provided at its upper extremity with the projection or latch 18' which is' adapted to fit within and en- F gage the sidewalls of the opening 18",.so that the handle when unfolded or moved into the position illustrated Figures 1 and 2 will sna into place and remain so po sitioned until it is again desired to fold the handle back against the powder and puff box.
The handle 18 is hollow and open at its lower extremity and into which fits the lip stick or rouge holder 20. This holder is illustrated in detail in Figure 6 and comprises the base 21, the tube 22, and the slid-- ing cup 23. The sliding cup is provided with the finger-engageable knob 24 which travels within the slot 25 cut or formed in the tube 22,so that as the rouge is used the cup holding the same may be moved up- .wardly and a; further amount of the rouge thus exposed. y
From the foregoing it will be apparent that my improved triplex vanity case may be used for a varietyof purposes and will be neat and attractive in appearance, may
be folded so as to occupy but little space,
and thus readily carried in a pocketbook or purse, and being preferably formed of precious metal or suitably plated material, will possess a highly pleasing appearance and thus form a most desirable article.
Having thus described and explained my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
