Be it known that I, KURT VoLz, a citizen of the German Republic,residing at Heidelberg, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gas Mixers for Internal-Combustion Engines, of which the chamber and uncovering a row of air holes for the admission of the additional air which are arranged in a circle for instance under the periphery of the atomizer, the ad mission of the primary mixture being controlled by an obturating body in the inner gas supply tube raised together with the atomizer.
The advantage of the invention in comparison with the devices of known construction for the regulation of the air inletwith yscrew wings or piston-like slides consists in the easier and undisturbed Working of the distributor, in the better distribution of the air and in the improved admixing of the gas mixture and the additional air s o that a thorough atomizing is eected.
In order to makethe invention clearly understood, I Ashall proceed to describe the same with reference to several forms of construction shown by way of' examplevin the accompanying drawings, wherein Figs. 1 and 2 are two sections standing perpendicular the one to the other and showing an atomizer of simple construction.

Atl its lowest position, the position of rest, the axle d is held by a spring m whose tension can be regulated by means of nut fn, and counter nut n1. The auxiliary vair flows into the casing through aperturesvll--c'e in the cup-shaped part of socket a, the number of holes being varied according to requirement. The air enters thus into the part of the casing in which the most intense action of the atomizer takes place. An adjusting ring 7c arranged upon the inner wall of the socket over the air inlets i is connected with the axle d' of the 'atomizerby arms Z. Instead of simply covering the inletsi by the `ring vthis ring k 'can engage with conical studs k1 (Fig.`1) in the air holes i so that, if it is being raised, it gives the holes free only gradually. The stronger the suction of the engine becomes, the more will the studs be raised out lof the holes and the more will vthe cross section be enlarged for the passage' of the air, so that a very fine adjusting Vofthe air inflow is ensured. The

, The-form of construction shown byE-igs. 59 corresponds with vthat shown in Fig.- 4, the u-pper bearing. g1 of the blade wheel o being however adjustablyrvniounted in the cover b1, the lower bearing g2 being stationary in the part c of the casing. `Within Vthe plane of the vblade wheel, preferably not belowthe same, tubular outlets b2 Lare arranged standing at right angles to they gas inlet so that the current of explosive mixture-is deflected at a right angle overthe blade wheel and forced practically to -flolw obliquely through the blades" whereupon results an extraordinarily good mixing effect. The cover is hollow and-can be connected withV a heating conduit in order :that -prelliininaryheating of the'niixture be effected.
