Description

' March 25 1924. ,488,2l5
F. MILLER ROLLING PIN Filed Nov. 2, 1922 INVENTOR Patented 25, 1924i.
FRANK MILLER, OF WEST HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY.
ROLLING-PIN.
Application filed November 2, 1922. Serial No. 598,639.
To @ZZ whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, FRANK MILLER, a citizen of Poland, residing at West Hoboken, county of Hudson, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rolling-Pins, of which the following is a specifica-tion.
This invention relates to improvements in rolling pins to be used in households, bakeries, etc., and it is the principal object of the invention to provide a pin of this character having the roller thereof mounted exchangeabl Air further object 01"" the invention is the provision of a rolling pin provided with handles which are connected to the frame by means of wooden dowel pins or pegs thus avoiding the use of metal parts.
Other objects and advantages of my 1nvention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawing forming a material part of this disclosure:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of a rolling pin constructed according to the present 1nvention.
Figure 2 is a side view thereof, and l Figure 3 is an end view of the rolling pin.
As illustrated, the rolling pin comprises a trame composed of longitudinal bars 10 and 11 and end plates 12 and 13 connected by the longitudinal or side bars 10 and 11.
Handles 14 and 15 are set upon the end plates, and connected therewith by means of pairs of pegs or wooden dowels 16, 17. The end plates 14 and 15 are centrally perforated for the passage ci the threaded ends of pins 18 and 19 carrying outer corrugated 40 heads 20 and 21 adapted to snugly it against sockets or projections 22 and 23 on the end plates.
The inner ends of pins 18, 19 are pointed as at 24, 25 and adapted to enter suitable 45 bores in the ends of a roller 26 to exchangeably hold the 'same for rolling movement in the frame.
'The operation of the device will be clear from the above description, if it is desired to exchange the roller 26, one or the other of ' pins 18, 19, or both are screwed out by means of heads 20, 21 until the points 24, 25 can be inserted into the bores of the new roller. The device is operated by means of handles 14 in an obvious manner.
Changes may be made in the general arrangement and construction of the minor details of my invention without deviating from the scope and spirit thereof.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:
A rolling pin, comprising a frame of reetangular form, including side plates and end plates, sections upon the upper ends of the end plates and formed with hand-hole o enings, and a` roller removably arranger in said frame and rotatably supported in the respective end plates, the diameter of the roller slightly exceeding the height of the side and end plates.
In testimony whereof I have aiiixed my signature.
FRANK MILLER.
