Be it known that i, FRANK M. Mmmm, a citizen of the United States, residing at Duluth, in the Vcounty of St. Louis and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Receptacles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to receptacles and has special reference to a novel form of leader box for use by lishermen.

The principal object is to produce a watertight receptacle in which the leaders may be kept in moist condition and yet convenient of access. Y

The receptacle is circular in plan view and of a size convenient for carrying about in ones pocket.

The preferred embodiment of the inven` tion contemplates two separable portions, the body portion 1 and the closure portion 2; the former having an inwardly projecting annular rim 3 which is internally screw threaded, and the latter has an annular depending ange 4 which is externally screw threaded near the base thereof for cooperative engagement with the rim 3. This Hange l extends a considerable distance into the receptacle beyond its screw threaded portion as it is desirable to have only two or three threads for convenience in applying or removing the cover.

ACarried within the body portion l is a felt or other similar absorbent disc 5 which is larger in diameter than the rim 3, and designed to fit within the body portion 1 beneath said rim. A second disc 6, of like material to the disc 5, lis removably carried within the box, and, between these discs is where the coils of leaders are carried, they being indicated at 7.

It is well known to those versed in the art of angling that it is very desirable to keep the leaders which are to be used slightly moist, and to accomplish this the 1922. Serial No. 557,574.

discs 5 and 6 are moist/cned and the leaders carried therebetween in the box, and the cover 2 of the box, having a sufficiently deep flange 4 to slightly engage the disc 6, the edge of which normally rests upon the disc 7, will tend to retain the leaders intermediate of the discs in the interior of the box and thus keep quite damp for a long period of time.

ln the preferred construction of box the the uppermost edge or rim 3 is milled or ground as are the engaging edges of the cover 2 so that a ground joint results intermediate of the cover and `the body portion, so as to secure a tight joint, it being preferred to construct the box of cast metal such as aluminum or the like.

The circumferential edge of the cover portion 2 extends slightly beyond the side walls of the body portion 1 and Ais knurled as at 8 for convenience in screwing on and off, and a similar projection indicated at 9 is formed about the lower edge of the body portion and is also knurled, thus making a receptacle which is easily manipulated regardless of ones hands happening to be damp or cold as the case may be.

Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

A leader receptacle comprising in combination two screw threadedly united cylindrical members, the circumferential walls of the body portions ofsaid members being spaced one from the other forming an inner annular space approximately the depth of the box intermediate thereof, ltwo absorbent discs slightly smaller than the interior of the larger or female member of the receptacle and of su'liicient thickness to be forcibly held together about -the circumferential edges by the iinpinging of the male member of the receptacle when the latter is assembled, thus forming a leader receiving space intermediate of the discs which is tightl sealed circumferentially.
