To all whom it may concern-1 Be it known that 1,,ALLEN P. Watson, a citizen of the United States, and resident oi. l/Valtham', in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Cutters for Pencil Sharpeners, of which the following is specification. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 9 inclusive the rotatable cutter comprises a tube 1 shown cylindrical in the present in stance, which tube is producedas follows A blank 2 of rhomboidal form is cut from a piece of sheet metal 3 and it is struck up by stamping, rolling or otherwise to produce pencil sharpening blades 4, either continuous or interrupted, which project outwardly from the surface of the blank. These sharpening blades aret'ormed parallel to the diagonal side edges 5 so thatwhen the'blank is curved into itst tubular form, the sharpening blades :will be ar ranged spirally and exteriorly thereon, with the abutting side edges ofthe blank meeting at a point between two sharpening blades. 'These' side edges may be perma nently united by any. well known or ap proved means.
In the embodiment represented in Figs. 10 to 18 inclusive the blank 6 is ofrec- "tangular form and is cut froma piece of sheet metal 7 and is struck by stamplng,

It is also to be understood that after the tube has been completed it may be hardened by any Well known or approved process and if so desired, the exterior sharpening blades maybe suitably sharpcned. I
