Specilication forinirg part cf Letters Patent No. 146,801, dated January :27, 1574 application iled November 24, 1873.
To all whom it only concern.:
Be it known that I, EDWIN C. B Uur, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in the Construction of the Soles oi' Shoes; and I do hereby declare th at the folloWin g is a full, clear, andexaet description of the saine, reference being had to the accompanying1 drawing forming a part of this specification.
The invention relates to a novel inode of eonstructing and eonjoiningl the upper, inner, and outer soles of a boot or shoe, as hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claim.
Figure l is a plan view of top of channeled outsole; Fig. 2, a cross-section of the saine, and Fig. 3 a top View of the middle sole of a double-soled boot or shoe.

-Ilaving thus described my invention, what I claim as new is- A boot or shoe having outer sole A of full thickness, except in channel a., an upper sunk in said channel, and an insole overlapping' the i channel, as and for the purpose described.
