T 0 all whom it may 007106! a Be it known that I, HARRY D. TAMPLIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at lVest Manchester, in the county of Preble and State of Ohio have invented. certa n new and useful Improvements in a Mold for Concrete Blocks, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a mold for concrete blocks and the like and has for its principal object to provide a knock-down and collapsible structure having parts which are replaceable and renewable.
Another important object of the invention is to provide core device to be used in conjunction with the mold so as to form a hollow concrete building block, said core being constructed so as to be readily re moved from the mold after the concrete block has had an opportunity of properly hardening.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a mold of this nature which. will be simple'and efficient in construction, reliable in operation. durable, comparatively inexpensive to manufacture and well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other ob jects in view as will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that a bottom 1 is provided having a rolled extension 2 on each end thereof so that the end plates 3 which are provided at their bottoms with the rolled spaced extensions 4 may be pivoted to the extension 2 by the insertion of a bolt 5. Thus it will be seen that the end plates 3 are not only pivotally mounted on the ends of the bottom 1 but they may be removed therefrom by the removal of the pin or bolt 5. Itis to be also noted that the end plates 3 are provided with right angularly extending side extensions 6. The bottom 1 is also provided at spaced intervals along its longitudinal sides with rolled extensions 7. The sides 8 are provided with rolled extensions 9 along their bottom edges adapted to extend between and register with the extensions 7 so that a bolt or pin 10 may be passed therethrough whereby the sides will be pivotally mounted and removably mounted on the bottom. As is shown to advantage in Figure 1 the hooked keeper 11 is pivotally mounted on the end plates 3 at each upper corner for engagement with an eye bolt 12 whereby the sides and ends will be maintained in a vertical locked position.
In order to form a hollow block I have provided the end plates 3 with the openings 13 and the side plates with the openings 14. The main core 15 extends longitudinally through the mold box having its ends supported in the openings 13. In order that there may be a transverse opening through the slot to be molded auxiliary core members 16 are provided and mounted on opposite sides of the main core 15 and held in place by the removable bolt 17 which ex tends through the openings 14. In assenibling the bolts it is to be understood that the mold box is assembled so that the ends and sides will be vertically positioned on the bottom locked in place by the keepers l1 and eye bolts 12. The main core 15 is then inserted through one of the openings 13 so as to be supported in both of these openings 13 as explained. The auxiliary core members 16 are then inserted through the openings 14 and securedly held in place by the bolts 17. The cementitious material such as concrete is poured into the mold box and allowed to harden therein. The blocks thus formed may then be removed by reversing the process above outlined.
The particular construction of the mold which I have described with considerable definiteness relates only to the preferred construction thereof and it is to be understood that numerous changes in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new is 1. In combination, a mold box, a main core forming member mounted in the box, a pair of auxiliary core forming members, and bolts passing through the core forming members so as to hold them in detachable engagement with each other in the manner and for the purpose specified.
2. In combination, a mold box including a pair of side walls having openings therein and a pair of end walls having openings therein, a main core forming member mounted in the box and having its ends disposed in the openings of the endwalls, a pair of auxiliary core forming members disposed one on each side of the main core forming member and disposed in the openings of the side walls, and bolts passing through the core forming members so as to hold them in detachable engagement with each other in the manner and for the purpose specified.
3. In combination, a moldbox including a bottom, a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls, said walls being provided with openings, a main core forming member mounted in the box and having its ends extended into the openings of the end walls, a pair of auxiliary core forming members disposed one on each side of the main core forming member and extending into the openings of the side walls, and means engaging the auxiliary core forming members with the main core forming member, said means extending through the openings of the side walls so as to be accessible where by the core forming members may be readily attached or detached from each other in the manner and for the purpose specified.
