BRACKET FOR SUFPORTING CLOSET TANKS.

jority of the weight will rest upon the bowl and has for its principal object to provide a device which may be readily assembled in conjunction with the bowl and tank.
A further object of the invention is to provide a bracket of this nature which will be efficient and simple in construction, reliable in operation, inexpensive to manufacture, durable, compact, neat in appearance, and well adapted to the purpose forwhich it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a fragmentary elevation showing a bowl and tank with my invention as sociated therewith.

Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that 1 designates an ordinary toilet bowl which is provided in its upper surface with the holes indicated by the dotted lines at 2 for receiving the hinge posts 3 which support the seat and cover. My bracket consists of the hole engaging member indicated generally at 4 which includes a pair of spaced bracket arms .5 having formed at their lower ends the apertured ears 6 mg istering with the depending sleeves 7 which are adapted to be positioned in the holes 2 of the bowl 1. The upper end of these bracket arms 5 terminate in the sleeves 8.

extend in horizontal planes whereas the arms 5 slant upwardly from the ears 6 to the sleeves 8. A brace bar 9 connects the arms 5 intermediate their ends preferably adjacent the sleeves 8. pair of bracket bars 10 are fixed tothewall- 11 behind the bowl 1 being provided with suitable apertures 12 for receiving screws or other retaining elements. An offset extension 13 is provided at the upper end of each bracket bar 10 and is pierced longitudinally so as to provide the hole 15. A pair of rods 16 have their ends positioned in the sleeves 8 and the holes 15 of the offset projection 13 so that they will lie horizontally for supporting the closet tank 17. It will thus be seenthat the majority of the weight of the tank will be rested upon the bowl 1 through the intermediacy of the bracket just described. The bowl engaging members 4 and the bracketbars 10 may be made in standard sizes and the rods 16 can readily be cut during the assembly of the bowl and tank depending upon the distance between the bowl and the wall.
Where the wall 11 is provided with tiles it is preferable to provide certain of the tiles with openings for receiving the rods 16 ratllier than fix the bracket bars 10 to the wa It is thought that the construction, utility and advantages ofthe bracket willnow be readily understood without a more detailed description. The embodiment of the invention which I have described with some degree of particularity, however, merely refersto the preferred construction and it is to be understood that numerous changes in form, in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Having thus described my invention What I claim as new is 1. In combination, a toilet bowl, a toilet tank, and a bracket disposed between the tank and the bowl, said bracket including a pair of bracket arms having their lowerends supported on the bowl, a pair of rods having one end supported in the bracket arms and means at their other ends for support.
