Be it known that I, WILLIAM SCHUERG, a

citizen of the United States, and a resident of Menard, in the county of Menard and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trusses, of

-which the following is a specification.

The present invention relates generally to 4 trusses, and more particularly to trusses of that nature in which provision is madel for the alleviation of what 'arepknown' as scrotal ruptures, the primary object being thepro:

By reference to Figure l in particular, it would be noted that a cross web M connects the rod or inner portion of the two leg straps N and near the permanently connected ends of these straps at l and L, so as to prevent the straps Yfrom turning, twisting or curling as well as to prevent slipping downwardly on either leg in use, and in particular to prevent the truss from being vpulled sideways as oiften results trom the use oi only one strap and even where two straps are used without my improved cross connection. In this way I propose to render the device more uniformly stationary and comfortable.

It will thus be observed that with the two leg stra-ps both permanently connected at their lower or inner ends, one to the main section of the back plate, and the other to the auxiliary section oit the back plate, having their upper or tree ends adjustably engageable with one another after aassage around the legs, the adjustably connected ends of the leg straps are held at the iront of the truss and prevented from falling by virtue of their disposition between the central depending prongs ot' the clasp F which may be easily raised to admit the connected ends of the straps from beneath, and also to permit of removal of the connected strap ends.

In this way and in consideration ot the body and encircling strap Q it is obvious that in use both the lower and upper portions and the pad will be subjected to the tension or' the body and the leg strap, and that in addition to this the central portion 0f the truss will have a firm even pressure to the adjustable connected ends of the leg straps so that the entire device may be utilized with maximum efliciency and minimum discomfort. j 1

I claim f l. A truss including a pad, a back plate consisting of a main section and a separate scrotal section llexibly connected to the main section, and lying in substantially the same plane therewith and flexible attaching connec'tions extending from both oft said back plate sections, said pad extending across both the main and scrotal sections ot the back plate.

2. A truss including a back plate, inflexible connected'sections, one ot which is approximately rectangular and the other ot which is substantially L shaped and extends around one lower corner of the first section and is flexibly joined to said iirst section, a pad extending across both of said back plate sections and attached thereto, and flexible attaching connections leading from the pad.

3. A truss including a back platen inflexible connected sections. one ot which isapproximately rectangular and the other of which is substantially L shaped and extends around one lower corner of the first section and is iiexibly joined to said first section, a pad extending across both of said back plate sections and attached thereto, including an adjustable body strap engaged with the main section of the back plate and leg encircling straps, one extending from the lower portion ot the main back plate section and the other extending from the lower portion of the auxiliary back plate section, said leg encircling straps having adjustably connected ends extending across the main back plate section.

A truss including a back plate, inflexible connected sections, one of which is approximately rectangular and the other ot which is substantially l. shaped and extends around one lower corner of the rst section and is exibly joined to said first section, a pad extending across both of said back plate sections` and attached thereto, includingan adjustable body strap engaged with the main section of the back plate and leg encircling straps, one extending from the lower portion of the main back plate section and the other extending from the lowerv portion of the auxiliary back plate section, said leg encircling straps having adjustably connected ends extending across the main back plate section, and means carried by the main back hold the said connected ends of the -leg straps. l

5. A truss consisting of a back plate having attaching means extending therefrom and including a main section, and a slibstantial l.. shaped auxiliary section extending around one lower corner of the main section and flexibly joined at its opposite ends to one side and the lower edge of the main section, and a pad extending acrossboth of said sections.

6. A truss including a pad, a back plate having attaching means and including two sections across both of which said'pad extends, one of said sections having rolled edges, and a reinforcing wire in the rolled edges extended at its ends beyond said section, and flexibly connected to the other section.

7. A truss including a pad, a back plate attached to the pad and having a cross barV upon its outer face, a clasp centrally of the cross bar, a body reinforcing strap and adjustable in connection with the cross bar at opposite sides of said clasp,'and leg straps permanently joined at one end to the lower portion of the back plate, having their opposite ends provided with adjustably connected sections and adapted for detachable engagement beneath `the said clasp of the cross bar.

8. A truss including a pad, a back plate connected to the pad and including flexible joined sections, one of which extends to one e5 plate section to engage and detachably tion of each of the back plate sections, `said leg encircling straps having adjustable connections at their opposite ends for engagement across the face of the upper section,

and a clasp approximately at the center of v the upper back plate section for detachable engagement to the said adjustably connected ends of the leg straps.

9.
