I claim:

l. Sealing means comprising: a member of sheet material having a main portion, provided with an aperture, for the reception of strands, and an auxiliary portion at one end, said main portion beingbent back upon itself` along a line extending transversely through the aperture, and said auxiliary portion being bent back upon the doubledup main portion.

2. Sealmg means comprising: a member of sheet material having a main portion provided with an aperture, for the reception of strands and an auxiliary portion at one end separated from the main portion by a weakened zone, said main portion being bent back upon itself along a line extending transversely through the aperture and parallel to the weakened ,zone aforesaid, and said auxiliary portion being bent back upon the doubled-up main portion.

3.. Sealing means comprising: a member of sheet material having a main portion,

provided with an aperture for the reception of strands, said main portion having further a notch at one end and an auxiliary portion separated yby a relatively narrow neck from the main portion at its other end, said main portion being bent back upon itself along a line extendin transversely through the aperture, and sai auxiliary portion being bent back upon the doubled-up main portion in such direction that the narrow neck enters the notch of the main portion.

4. Sealing means comprising: a member of sheet material having a main portion, provided with an aperture for the reception of strands andprovided, on one of its faces, with a symbol indicatin that the seal has been broken, and an aux' iary portion at one end, said main portion being bent back upon itself along a line extending transversely through the aperture and in such direction as to bring that face carrying the symbol outermost, and said auxiliary portion being bent back upon the doubled-up main rtion in' such direc-tion as to cover the ace carrying the symbol.

5. Sealing means for cords or the like comprising: a member of sheet material having an aperture, for the reception of strands, and upturned lugs at opposite sides of said aperture but on the same face of the sheet material member, said member also having an auxiliary portion at one end, said main portion being bent back upon itself along a line extending transversely through the aperture at a point intermediate the lugs, the bend being in such direction as' to cause the lugs to approach each other, and said auxiliary portion being bent back upon the doubled-up main portion.

6. Sealing means for cords'or the like comprising: a member of sheet material having an aperture for the reception of strands, and upturned lugs at opposite sides of said aperture but on the same face of the sheet material member, said member also having a symbol, indicating that the seal has been broken, upon that face which is opposite to the one carrying the lugs, and an auxiliary portion at one end of the main portion, said main portion being bent back upon itself along a line extendlng transversely throu h the aperture at a point intermediate tie lugs, the bend being in such direction as to cause the lugs to approach each other and to bring the face carrying the symbol outer- -most, and said auxiliary portion being bent back upon the doub1ed-up main portlon in such direction as to cover the face carrying the symbol.
