A further object is to provide a device which may be easily inserted within a pipe and held securely therein, but which may be easily and readily removed.
Other objects and advantages of the peculiar construction will appear in the further description thereof.

The present invention comprises a partition member consisting of two sections 1 and 2, which are hinged together at their ends. as at B. The sides of the members 1 and 2 are turned laterally in the form of flanges at. and these flanges have pivotally secured thereto adjustable supporting bows` each consisting of two arcuate members 5 and G. In applying the device to a stove pipe` the member 2 is always placed close to the stove, and, adjacent the free end of the member 1, whether applied to a straight or elbowed pipe, and located, in the stove pipe, is a double damper consisting of the two segments 11 and 19.. The segment 11 has attached thereto, as at 13, the sleeved clip 14, which is positioned intermediate of the two similar clips 15 and 1G securely vattached to the segment 12, as at 17. Damper shafts 18 and 19 extend through the sides of the smoke pipe at opposite points and are in alignment with each other. The shaft 18 extends through the clip 15 and into the clip 14, while the shaft 19 extends through the clip 16 and into the other side of the clip 1&1, said clip let acting as a journal for the shafts and aids in keeping them in alignment.
One of the shafts is attached, in any desirable manner as b v a suitable cotter not shown, to the clip 14 for regulating the segment 11, and the other sha-ft is rigidly attached to the clip 16f0r regulating the segment 12. Means for manually regulating either or both of the segments are provided adj acent the outer ends of the shafts 1S and 19.
The free end of the section 1 has an arcu iio ately shaped cut-away portion Aformed therein, as at 20, so that, when the segment 12 is disposed transverse the pipe and the segment ll at an angle of approximately 45 degrees downwardly, the smoke and gases rising in the larger passage of the pipe will be forced by the segment 1l through the cutaway portion 20, and the segment l2 will aid in directing the unburned gases back to the fire; through the smaller division of the flue.
As is obvious a great many different combinations oi'" draft conditions may be produced by the regulation of the segments ll and 12 in accordance with the different conditions of combustion within the stove or the division Wall for holding same in position within the pipe, and a double .adjustable damper within the pipe adjacent the upper end ot' the division Wall whereby to deflect gases passing through the pipe at the end of the wall and cause a portion of same to return y.Within the pipe. f
