A still Lturther object is to provide one oi the principal elements of the device with cleats having extended end portions permit ting retaining members to be pivoted thereto in position tor engaging the other or said principal elements of the pressing` device for holding the same in operative position.
l,Vith the 'foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction and arrangement oi? elements described and claimed, it being understood that modifications may be made Within the scope of the claims, Without departing ,trom the spirit of invention.
ln the drawings, Figure 1 is a view ot the device in elevation; Figure 2 is an elevation, from the opposite side; Figure 3 is an view, the hinged member beingl in full lines and in dotted iines; Figure di is transverse section on the line M ot Figure 1; Figure 5 is a detail view of a clamping device.
The board or base may be approxi- -inately rectangular,'so tar as the portion thereof is concerned. rlhe upper end of the board is however formed into a coat hanger, to be suspended by means ot a hook l1 or other suitable device, having swivel connection With a clip, or the like, designated 12.
The upper end portion of base 10 is provided ivith curved portions 13 and 141, and 1with outwardly or laterally extending devices 15 and 16, adapted to directly support the shoulder portion ot the garment.
A iilurality of cleats 17 and 18 are se- Scrial No. 553,388.
portions 19, extending around the base.
.',oint shown, and is rounded at assist in supporting the shoulder portion ot the garment. Secured to cleat 20 .ae hinges 21 and 2Q. by means of which the pressure board 23 is mounted, this board beg usually or the same width as tbe base 0, and terminating at the lower end of the base.
Bars 25 and :26 are pivoted respectively on opposite edges of the pressure board 23, the pivotal members 2? being mounted in end portions 19 the cleats 17 and 1S. Clamping devices 28 and 29, of U-shape serve to retain the pivoted bars in position after the garment has' been placed between boards 10 and 23.
From the foregoing the operation of the device will `pgarent and particular einphasis is placed upon the devices by means which the elements 10 and are held with reference to each other.,
Having thus described the claim:
