GAME.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Or'ro DROELLE, citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of lVayne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful I1n provement in Games, and declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

My invention relates to games as shown in the accompanying drawings and more particularly described in the following specification and claims The object of my invention is to provide a board having a plurality of pockets designed to support a series of detached movable pins,or the like, in spaced relation to each other to form a corral adapted to confine a movable ball which must be directed into the corral before all the pins are in position so that when the last pin is in place, the ball cannot escape from the corral or pen until one or more of the pins have been dislodged from the pockets. The pins and ball are directed to their respective stations by tilting the board back and forth in different directions as may be found necessary to accomplish this end.

In the drawings accompanying this specification:

Figure 1 is a plan view of the board showing the pins in position to confine the ball in the corral formed thereby.

Fig. 2 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view through the device.

Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view of one of the pins, comprising a capsule like device in which is lodged a movable shot or ball.

In order to increase the interest in the game, it will be assumed the several pins which are arbitrarily colored, represent certain nations of the earth, and when in spaced relation to each other through lodgment in the respective pockets serve to form a corral or pen indicating a league of said nations.

The movable ball which is also preferably colored, is supposed to-represent war and the object of the game is to confine said war ball within the corral formed or controlled Specification of Letters Patent.

In carrying out my invention the respective pockets and the adjacent area surrounding the pockets are each arbitrarily and differently colored to correspond with the color of the several pins ;the area within the confines of the pins being likewise colored to accord with that of the war ball.

Referring now to the letters of reference placed upon the drawings A, denotes a box-like structure, comprising a relatively thick base B, provided with a plurality of recesses C, equidistantly spaced from each other to form a' circular row of pockets surrounding the center of the base of the box. D, indicates side walls secured to thebase, and E, designates a transparent cover secured to the side walls which may be of glass, celluloid or other transparent medium.

Extending from the several pockets are projecting points of different colors which together form a star-like device in the center of the board, the device is purely arbitrary and need not be employed, but it assists in indicating the color of the respective pockets.

F, indicates a plurality of capsule like elements,colored to correspond with the respective pockets, and which have previously been referred to as pins. Lodged in the capsules are one or more shot G, designed to insure a more positive movement of the capsule when tilting the board or box, and that the capsule may turn end over end and thus more readily enter the pockets C. H, is a ball which may be formed of wood or other suitable material, the diameter being such that when the several pins are in their respective pockets and the ball in the corral formed by the pins, it cannot escape until one or more of the pins are removed.

To play the game the board is manually tilted back and forth to cause the pins to roll toward the pocket corresponding in color to that of the pin. Upon the pin rolling over the pocket, the shot in the pin or capsule will serve to up-end the pin and thus cause it to enter the pocket. Before seating the last pin, the ball G, is directed within the confines of the other pins, whereupon the remaining pin is carefull directed toward its pocket and when seated therein it will be found that the ball connot escape so long as the pins remain in their respective relation to each other. In order that the game may be more diflicult to play and therefore more interesting, the respective pins must each enter the pocket corresponding in color with that of the pin, and in the event of a pin entering a pocket of contrasting color, it must be dislodged therefrom and properly seated.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is 1. A device of the character described comprising a board having a plurality of pockets spaced apart to form an inclosure, a plurality of pins adapted to be seated in the respective pockets by manually tilting theboard in difi'erent directions, whereby they may be directed toward the pockets, and a movable element adapted to enter said inclosure before all of said pins are in position, and to be confined therein when all of the pins, forming the inclosure are in position.

2. In a device of the character described, a board having a plurality of pockets spaced apart to form an inclosure, a plurality of hollow pins, a movable ball lodged in said pins, and a ball adapted to enter said inclosure before all of the pins are in position, and to be confined in the inclosure by lodging the pins in the respective pockets.

3. In a device of the character described,

a box-like structure, a transparent cover for said box-like structure, the base of said boxlike structure having a plurality of recesses or pockets arranged in a circle in spaced relation to each other, a plurality of capsules or hollow pins, adapted to be seated in said pockets, movable shot lodged in the respective capsules, whereby said pins may tilt upon end into the pockets provided to receive' them, and a ball adapted to be confined within an inclosure formed by the pins.

4. In a device of the character described, a box-like structure, a transparent cover for said box-like structure, the base of said boxlike structure having a plurality of recesses or pockets arranged in a circle in spaced relation'to each other and carrying a diflerent color, a plurality of capsules or hollow pins, adapted to be seated in said pockets and respectively colored to correspond with the several pockets, movableshot lodged in the respective capsules, whereby said pins may tilt upon end into the pockets provided to receive them, and a ball adapted to be confined within an inclosure formed by the pins.
