MOLD FOR PIPES OR CONDITITS.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, DAVID D. TRACY, a citizen oi the United States, residin at Jackson, county of Jackson, State of M1chigas, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Molds for Pipes or Conduits, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in molds for pipes or conduit-s.
The main object of my invention is toprovide an improved mold for pipe or conduit sections which may -be quickly set up, are very secure when set up and which. may be quickly collapsed and removed from the molded section without injury thereto.
Further objects, and objects. relating to structural details, will definitely appear -t'ronithe detailed description to follow.
I accomplish the objects of my invention by the devices and means described in the following specification. The invention is clearly defined and pointed out in the claims.
A. structure which is a preferred embodiment of my invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which:
Figure I is a perspective view of a section of pipe or conduit formed in my improved mold.
Fig. I1 is a perspective view oi the assembled or set up mold, the same being shown filled.
Fig. 111 is a vertical section on a line corresponding to-line 33 of Figs. II and VI.
Fig. IV is a detail side elevation showing structural details of the outer form.
Fig. V is a top view of the mold in set up or assembled relation.
Fig. V1 is a horizontal section on a line corresponding to line 66 of Fig. III.
In the drawing similar reference characters refer to Similar parts throughout the several views, and the sectional views are taken looking in the direction of the little arrows at the ends of the section lines.
Referring to the drawing, my improved mold comprises an outer form designated generally by the numeral 1 and an inner form designated generally by the numeral 2, the relative diameter of the forms being such as to produce the pipe sections 3 with walls of desired thickness.
The outer form 1 comprises a plurality of complementary segmental sections 4: having top and bottom cross pieces 5 secured Specification of letters Patent.

thereto, the cross pieces being preferably formed of angle iron and having rabbeted coacting ends 6. I
The hooks 7 are pivoted at 8 at one end of each cross bar and adapted to engage pins 9 on the adjacent ends of the adjacent cross bars when the sections are assembled, the hooks holding the sections securely in their assembled relation. When these hooks are released, however, the sections are entirely disconnected and free for removal.
The outwardly projecting arms 10 of the angle iron cross pieces 5 are cut away at their ends so as to permit the hooks to be swung upwardly. The ends of the project ing arms of the angle iron adjacent to the swinging ends of the hook form convenient fulcrums for a tool engaged with the projecting tips 11 of the hooks for convenience in releasing the same.
The inner form 2 is made of a plurality of sections 12, 12 and 13, 18. Theedges of the sections 12, 12 and the adjacent edges of the edges 13, 13 are in abutment when the form is assembled, the edges of the sections 13, 13 being, however, spaced to receive the filler bar l t which complements the sections 12 and 13 to provide a complete wall.
The filler bar 1 1- is T shaped, its stem portion fitting between the edges of the sections 18 and its cross portion overlapping the same, as clearly shown in Fig. VI.
The sections of the inner form are provided with cross pieces 15 similar to the cross pieces 5 of the outer form, the cross pieces 15 being arranged on the inner sides of the sections of the inner form. Hooks 16 are mounted on the cross bars of the inner sections and are adapted to engage pins 17 on the cross bars of adjacent sections.
The hooks connecting the sections 13 are adapted to close behind and support the filler bars in their operative position, as shown. When these hooks are released, the filler bar is freed so that it may be readily removed, and this frees the remaining sections so that they may be easily and quickly is represented at 18. In Fig. III, the part 19 represents the core forming groove in the end of the conduit.
I have illustrated and described my improvements in detail in an embodiment adapted for the manufacture of large conduits such as water, sewer or gas, and it is believed that the disclosure made will enable those skilled in-the art to embody or adapt my invention as may be desired.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In a mold for conduits, the combination of a collapsible outer form, collapsible inner form comprising a plurality of segmental longitudinal sections having cross bars at their ends, the adjacent edges oi one pair of sections being spaced to receive a filler bar, the adjacent edges of the other sections being in abutting relation, a T- shaped filler bar disposed with its stem portion between said spaced edges and complementing the sections and its head portion overlapping the inner sides thereof, and hooks pivoted on the cross bars and adapted to engage pins on the cross bars of the adjacent sections, one of the hooks being adapted to close behind and support said fillerbar in operative position.
2. In a mold for conduits, the combination of a collapsible outer form, a collapsible inner form comprising a plurality of segmental longitudinal sections, the adjacent edges of one pair of sectionsbeing spaced to receive a filler bar, a T-shaped filler bar disposed with its stem portion between said spaced edges and complementing the sections and its head portion overlapping the inner sides thereof, and connecting hooks for said sections, one of the hooks being adapted to close behind and support said filler bar in operative position.
3. In a. mold for conduits, the combination of a collapsible outer form, a collapsible inner form comprising a plurality of segmental longitudinal sections, the adjacent edges of one pair of sections being spaced to receive a filler bar, a i -shaped filler bar disposed with its stem portion between said spaced edges and complementing the sections and its head portion overlapping the inner sides thereof, and a supporting means for said sections adapted to engage said filler bar when in operative position.
