My invention appertains more', particularly to lock switches used to prevent the theft of automobiles, and the present device'is an improvement in the locking means disclosed in my Letters Patent No.. 1,015,300, dated January 23, 1912, and in my Patent No. 1,253,470 of Jan. 115, 1918,
ln one type of lock-switch in general use, the practice is to provide a switchA body This' body is secured to a coil-box and covered by apro tecting plate at itsfront. A key' is required to operate the switch and the protecting'V plate cannot be removed without the use of the 'same key. But the'switch body in gem eral use' is breaka-bie, and thefts ofcars have occurred where the switch has been reached by demolishing the body. My improved device is-designed to protect the switch body by inclosing the same with an extension forming an integral part of the protecting plate, and the device is modified also in other particulars, all as herein shown and described and more particularly pointed out in the claims. i

Certain types of automobiles employ metal coil boxes 2 within which a series of electrical sparking units 3 are housed. This box is usually secured to the dash-board or within the cowl of the vehicle and is provided at its front .vith an electrical switch,`
