H. A. BAILEY.
' STOVEPIPE HGLDEH AND BRACE.
APPLICATION FILED APR. is, l9l8.

Wm eooeo HOMER A. BAILEY, OF ELBERJTA, MICHIGAN.
STOVEPIPE HOLDER AND BRAUE.
Application filed April 19, 1918.
1 b 0/] whom it may concern.
l e it known that 1, House A. Bum-1v, a citizen of the United States, residing at lfllherta, in the county of Benzie. State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Stovepipe Holder and Brace; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear. and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to unimproved stove ppe holder-and brace, and one of the objects of the in ition to provide a de vice of this kind particularly adapted at the elbow joint. of a stove pipe for holding th horizontal and vertical sections of the stove pipe in engagement with the elbow, and to brace the entire constructio t further object of the invention is to provide spacing connecting rods or members between the clamping rings of the horizon tal and vertical sections of the stove pipe.
further object pf the invention is to pit vide a device of this kind involving improved features of construction.
In practical fields the details of construction may necessitate alterations falling within the scope of What is claimed.
The invention comprises further features and combination of parts as hereinafter set forth, shownin the drawings and claimed.
in the drawings Figure 1 is a view inside elevation of a portion of a stove pipe, showing the elbow joint between the horizontal and vertical Specification of Letters iatent.
sections of the pipe, and illustrating the.
spacing; and connecting rod between the clamping rings.
Fig. 2 a view in end elevation of the stove pipe fastener and holding means do tached from the stove pipe. J
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the stove pipe fastener and holder.
Fig. l is an enlarged detail view of one end of one of the hands and the spacing connecting rod.
Referring more especially to the d awing's 1 and 2 designate the horizontal and vertical sections of a stove pipe, and 3' the elbow section, which telescopically fits the ends of the horizontal and vertical sections 1 and 2, in the usual manner as shown at e and Clampin% v I h horizonta an vertical sections, and the on rin s 6 and 7 engage about the.

jacent ends of each ringare bent upon them selves and riveted as shown at 8, to provide the loops or eyes 9. Connecting and spacing rods 10 are In'ovidcd. Each of the rods 10 hasits end portions bent at, 11, to provide the portions 12 extending at obtuse angles to the body of the rod. These portions 12 will then extend parallel with the horizontal and vertical sections 1 and 2, of the stove pipe, and are mounted in the eyes or loops 9 of the adjacent end portions of the clamping; ring. as shown clearly in Figs. 1, 3 and i. The extremities of the portions 12 of said rods" terminatein eyes 13. The terminals of the material forming the eyes 13 overlie the loops or eyes 9, as shown clearly in Fig. i
4. Bolts 15 extend through the adjacent.
eves 13. and are provided with nuts 16, to
clamp the parts together. By means of the device as hercin-described and illustrated, the horizontal and vertical sections of the stove pipe may be held in secured engagement with the elbow section, at the same time bracing the several attendant parts.
The invention having been set forth What is claimed as new and useful is: 1. A stove pipe fastener, comprising, a pair of angalarly related clamping rings ea h consisting of a strip of metal having spaced longitudinal terminals, a pair of spaced -longitudiinillv disposed connecting rods having angularly related portions so cured to the terminals of the elampin rings and extending beyond the same an of the clamping: ring and fastening means passing through the eyes and ad ustably clamping rings.
9. A stove pipe fastener. comprising pair of'clamping rings engaging about hori zontal and vertical sections of a stove pipe, the ad acent ends of each spacing and connecting portions exlemlingr at obtuse angles engaging said loops the extremities of said portions terminatingin eyes, and means passing through the eves for drawing them together and clamping the rings about said sections. In testimony whereof I have signed any two subscribing witnesses.
