To all 'whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, RALPH V. REYNOLDS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Clothes- Hanger; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the numerals of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to an improved formy of clothes hanger adapted to be removably secured upon. a wall or support and having arms thereon formed to permit a number of supplementary coat hangers to be hung thereon in a fixed spaced relation to one another, preventing the same from moving toward each other.

It is an object of this invention to construct a clothes hanger having a plurality of arms formed thereon, each' arm having a number of apertures therein affording a. means for receiving coat hangers and to hold the same spaced from one another on said arms.

It is also an object of this invention to construct a clothes hanger comprising an aper-I tured base adapted to receive a plurality of sets of tongues therein, said tongues being integrally formed on apertured supporting arms and adapted to be bent at an angle to said arms in back of said base to hold said base and arms together.

It is also an object of this invention to construct a clothes hanger comprising an apertured base adapted to receive a plurality of sets of tongues therein, said tongues being integrally formed on apertured supporting arms and adapted to be bent at an angle to said arms in back of said base to hold said base and arms together.

It is a further object of this invention to construct a clothes hanger having arms thereon adapted for removably receiving a plurality of auxiliary clothes hangers in spaced relation to one another on said arms.

It is furthermore an object of this invention to construct a clothes hanger comprising an armed bracket member having tongues integrally formed thereon and bent at right angles to said member alternately on opposite sides thereof, to afford a means for mounting the bracket member.

It is finally an object of this invention to construct a clothes hanger simple in construction affording a means for receiving independent clothes hangers thereon in a fixed spaced relation to each other.

This invention (in a preferredv form) is illustrated in the drawings, and hereinafter more fully described.

As shown in the drawings:

The reference numeral l, represents a wall or support upon which is removably mounted by means of screws 2, a clothes hanger comprising a base plate 3, suitably apertured in each corner to receive said screws 2, and having an integral rearwardly turned peripheral flange 4, adapted when mounted to rest against the wall l, and also affording a chamber 5. Said base plate 8, has centrally formed therein a plurality of alined slots adapted to receive a plurality of sets of tongues 6, projecting therethrough. Said tongues are integrally formed upon the rear edge of a bracket plate cut, stamped or formed to afford a plurality of upwardly inclined arms 7, of different lengths the longest of which is at the top and shortest at the bottom. Each of said arms having a notch 8, formed in the upper outer edge thereof, and a plurality of centrally alined apertures 9, adapted to removably receive the hooks of ordinary coat or clothes hangers in a fixed spaced relation with respect to one another. To hold the bracket plate rigidly secured upon the base plate 3, the tongues 6, already described as projecting into the chamber 5, are alternately bent over at right angles on opposite sides of said bracket plate, against the inner surface of the base plate 3, as clearly shown in Figs. 2 and 4.

In the modified form of the device shown in Figs. 5 and 6. the clothes hanger is constructed of a unitary plate of metal having upwardly inclined integral arms 10, constructed-similar to the arms 7. Said plate of metal is cut at its rear edge to afford a plurality of tongues I1, each bent outwardly at a right angle to said plate with adjacent tongues disposed on opposite sides o the plate and each provided with a central aperture 12, to permit the clot-hes hanger to be removably secured upon a wall by means of screws or nails. y y

I am aware that various details of constructionA may be varied through a wide range without departing from the principles of this invention, and I therefore do not purpose limitingl the patent granted otherwise than necessitated by the prior'ar't.
