To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH BEDARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county .of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in VVindshield- Protectors, of which'the following is a specification.
This invention relates to the class of automobile wind shield protectors of which the patent of the United States issued to me February 4, 1920, No. 1,345,826, affords an example.
Such protectors are designed to protect the shield from snow, rain and glare tending to interfere with a good view of the road by the driver.
T he object of thepresent invention isto provide an improved and simplified form of protector adaptedfor convenient application and adjustment, the latter both as to size presented and position.
The invention is embodied in the example herein shown and'described, the features of novelty being finally claimed.
In the accompanying drawing forming part hereof,
Figure 1 is an end view of a wind shield frame showing one member of my protector frame in side view applied thereto. Fig. 2 is a section on the line II-II Fig. 1 on a larger scale.

so that the arm 8 can be inclined somewhat zontal slots 6 raised and lowered and forward to change of the shield proper, if desired.
Connected with the upper end of the standard 8 is the rear end of an arm 11 having the angle of inclination two longitudinal slots 11 and 11". The'connection of the arm 11 with the standard 8 is effected by means of 'a-rod 12, said rod being threaded at its ends, one end being passed through the slot of'arm 8 and the lower slot 11 of the arm and receiving two butterfly nuts like that at 13 between which the arms 8 and 11 are clamped together. The rod 12 extends between the two main parts of the frame as shown and serves to keep those parts properly spaced and in rigid relation to each other. Secured to the outer end and at the inner side of-the arm 11 is another slotted arm 14 like the arm 11 (see Fig. 5) except that'it has'a hole at eachencl as shown at 14 and 14". The meansfor securing the arms 11 and 14 together consists of a rod 15 threaded on its opposite ends, such end passing through the lower slots of said arms 11 and 14, said ends provided with butterfly nuts 16 clamping the parts together. The outer ends of the arms 14 are braced a rod 17 threaded at its ends and provided with suitable butterfly nuts 18 to clamp said arms and hold the several parts in fixed relation to each other.
The to of the wind shield is braced b a pair 0 slotted arms 20 and 21 clamped at their meeting ends by a bolt and nut, as seen at 22, the other ends being clamped respectively to the frame carrying member 6 by nut 9 and to the arms 11 and 14 by nut 16.
The upper part of the frame is thus composed of a rear portion and a forward portion, the forward portion comprising the side arms 14 with bars 15 and 17 slidable in the slots 11 of the rear portion.
A bolt 25, nut 26 and spacing washer 27 between the arms 11 and 14 kee those arms in proper position to permit-"he easy sliding of the forward part in the rear iart when the nuts 16 and26 are loosened;
A suitable piece of opaque flexible fabric 28is stretched and secured between the arms 11, the said fabric being passed through the slots at 11* and under the upper bars ofsaid arm and stitched. In Fig. 3 I' have shown a triangular piece of fabric 30 that can be employed to cover the triangular opening included by the arms 8, 11 and the bracing arms, said triangular piece being provided with suitable hoes 31 placed to be 'buttoned upon the butterfly niuts even if the angle of the frame frame is ad'ustableto suit an conditions it maybe resired to meet. I not needed on the vehicle it can be taken down and reduced to compact form.
The forms of the parts can be charged without departing from the gist of the invention as claimed,

A wind shield protector including, in combination, suitable standards, a top for connection with said standards comprising a rear art and a forward part, the rear part inc uding a air of longitudinally slotted side bars, a tlireaded rod and clamping nuts thereon connecting said side bars to said standards, the forward part of said top including side bars each having 0.
